Is the monster - the DODGE SRT VIPER ACR (American Club Racer, 2016) - the last of its kind? We believe so! An 8,4 liter V10 engine, a lot of racing know-how, developed by the SRT (Street and Racing Technology) engineers in cooperation with the United SportsCar Championship racing team, etc. Actually, the conditions for a super extreme athlete couldn't be better his! The racing aerodynamic components in the form of a huge removable front splitter, flics on the wheel arches, enormously large rear wing (1.876 mm wide), diffuser etc. ensure that almost a ton of downforce is generated at a top speed of 177 mph (285 km / h). If the numbers mean nothing to you, you should keep that in mind McLaren P1 with active aerodynamics only 600 kg downforce at 160 mph (256 km / h) peak generated.
Compared to the normal Viper, the power has been increased to 654 PS (+ 8PS) but the torque remains the same as 814 NM. Considering the enormous cubic capacity, and the fact that this performance already today by a 3,0 l six-cylinder like that M4 F82 with Evo V4 from G-Power is reached, we believe the statement of the Dodge engineers that any time more steam can be squeezed out of the ten-cylinder. The focus was on more grip, traction and downforce, which means better driveability in the end. The seriousness of the subject has also been shown by the chassis components. For example, the Viper uses a modified and multi-adjustable suspension from Bilstein, which uses harder springs and more negative camber at the wheels. The effect is that you can fly at higher speeds in the curves and also receives a better weight shift when accelerating and braking.
And also to the delay was thought because the Viper is braked as standard with a Brembo carbon ceramic brake system. And even new tires have been developed for the last model of the Viper. From the manufacturer Kumho there are the Ecsta V720 sports tires that allow a lateral acceleration of up to 1,5 g. But this monster still offers scope for individuality shows us the rim label ADV.1 Wheels with a breathtakingly chic copy. The beautiful blue painted ACR got an ADV.1 Wheels wheelset type ADV06R M.V2 CS in abundant 20 × 10.5 inches in front and oversized fat 20 × 13 inches behind. More changes are definitely not necessary and with the new wheelset the exclusive ACR is definitely unique.
