AIMGAIN - VIP Mercedes-Benz W222 S Class with Airride suspension

Reading time 4 Min.

Which vehicle comes to mind when you think of an Airride suspension? So for me it's very clear VW Golf,  Ford Mustang or even one Audi A3. So my apparently "short“Think because those times are long gone. Nowadays, extreme lowering is not only possible in "typical“Compact & mid-range vehicles exist but also in luxury cars like one BMW 7er or a Mercedes S-Class. A pretty blatant example shows us the tuner AIMGAIN, from Hiroshima, of whom we last heard something in April of this year. At that time the team showed us a very different one Mazda MX-5 with widebody kit and this time it goes on a few floors above. The latest project is based on a Mercedes S-Class W222 type that is already the tenth edition of the luxury-class Mercedes-Benz model. For me the biggest conspicuousness is the mentioned Airride air suspension, but that's not what AIMGAIN is all about in the first place. The focus is actually on the now available carbon body kit (optional fiber-reinforced plastic- fiberglass) are the S-class has missed all around. The body kit consists of a new front bumper spoiler, side skirts, rear apron with diffuser, rear spoiler and a roof spoiler.

In addition, the tuner offers various EVS rear silencer systems that can be provided with carbon tailpipes and a 4-pipe look on request. Of course, the Airride chassis installed here can also be ordered directly from the tuner from Japan, but of course you can also order this like the built-in 22 inch rims from other tuners. All in all, I have to say I really like the S-Class from AIMGAIN, the aerodynamic parts are discreet and match the look of the AMG parts and the W222 has not been modified excessively. If the built-in Airride suspension is too heavy for you, you can either set it a little higher or install a conventional coilover suspension or adjust the standard air suspension accordingly. The AIMGAIN team has the W222 (here as a long version) published yesterday and of course we are happy to show you the first pictures. After the thoroughly comprehensive but nevertheless very discreet tuning cure that the S-Class was allowed to endure, it is now visually much more individual and dynamic than the production version without being exaggerated or even chubby.

Airride chassis & body kit

So if you have been secretly thinking about buying a W222 for a long time, or if you are already a happy owner, AIMGAIN is definitely an interesting starting point when it comes to differentiating the vehicle from the production model. And for all those who are not necessarily based in Japan, the fact that the tuner also sends the body kit is certainly crucial.
