Akrapovič presents the latest exhaust system for the Audi RS Q8

The latest product from Akrapovič is an innovative Evolution Line (Titanium) exhaust system, which was developed from the ground up for the Audi RS Q8. The profound knowledge Akrapovič gained from working with 4,0 liter V8 engines has been used to develop this beautifully shaped exhaust system that offers both sound and performance. The Evolution Line (Titanium) exhaust system is made entirely of light, high-quality titanium and has a central silencer with two flanking valves - the housings for both valves were cast in the in-house Akrapovič foundry - and a connecting pipe set with an X-connector. This configuration allows the exhaust gases and pressure pulses from both sides of the engine to mix and create a unique sound. The exhaust pressure pulses communicate in two areas of the exhaust system and generate unique sound patterns that ensure maximum enjoyment of the Evolution Line (Titanium). On the one hand, the X-connection in the connecting pipe section of the exhaust system gives a specific Akrapovič high-frequency racing sound in the upper speed range, which is complemented by the deep and iconic Akrapovič rumble in the low to high speed range.

Carbon / titanium tailpipes

This swings through the rear muffler and creates a characteristic V8 hum that goes perfectly with the enormous torque this engine can deliver. There is also a comfort mode in which the car can be driven in the (probably seldom) quiet moments behind the steering wheel without any unwanted noise. The breathtaking design of the Evolution Line (Titanium) system is not only hidden under the car, but is also provided with eye-catching tailpipes made of carbon / titanium that protrude on both sides of the rear of the RS Q8, as was the case with the Akrapovič system for the Audi RS 6 Avant and the RS 7 Sportback, which the Slovenian company launched on the market in early 2020. The handcrafted tailpipes have a dynamic shape, with the carbon outer sleeve perfectly coordinated with the sandblasted and coated titanium inner liner to give this beautiful exhaust system a stunning finish.

6,9 kW (9,4 PS) and 17,2 Nm torque

But it's more than just design, visual perfection and breathtaking sound - the exhaust system is also characterized by excellent performance, increasing it by 6,9 kW (9,4 hp) at 5.600 rpm and torque by 17,2 Nm at 2.500 rpm. These values ​​were recorded on the in-house Akrapovič test bench after the RS Q8 with an Evolution Line (Titanium) was tested against the same vehicle with the RS sports exhaust system in successive comparison runs. The weight has been reduced by 43 percent compared to the standard RS sports exhaust system. The Akrapovič Evolution Line (Titanium) exhaust system is a plug-and-play product and, due to the ECE type approval, the control unit does not need to be matched to it.
