Alpine A4810 by IED: Summiteer with hydrogen drive!

Under the name Alpine A4810 by IED, 28 master's students from the renowned Italian design school Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) realized the study for a supercar with hydrogen drive in cooperation with the French sports car brand. The spectacular concept car combines advanced, environmentally friendly technologies with typical Alpine features. The name is inspired by the 4.810 meter high Mount Blanc, which connects France and Italy. With the task of designing a “Super Berlinette” for the year 2035 that combines performance and environmental compatibility, the students set to work on their designs last fall. From the proposals submitted, Alpine finally chose two, from which the young designers jointly developed the A4810 by IED project.

At 5,09 meters long, 2,01 meters wide and 1,06 meters high, the two-seater has typical super sports car proportions. The design combines lightness with aerodynamic features reminiscent of Formula 1 cars. In terms of color, the look is characterized by a combination of brand-typical blue and matt black elements as well as carbon fiber details. The core is the hydrogen drive, which makes the vehicle locally emission-free and environmentally friendly. “Collaborating with the Istituto Europeo di Design and its students has been a great experience,” says Antony Villain, Alpine Design Director. "It was exciting to see the brand through the eyes of a younger generation and gave us the opportunity to share our passion and know-how and offer advice to the up-and-coming designers for a successful career in automotive design."

“IED's Alpine A4810 project has been a very exciting experience,” adds Raphael Linari, Alpine Chief Designer. “The result is a futuristic supercar that breaks new ground for the brand in terms of package, proportions and design language. The different creative approaches of the young, talented students have led to some very interesting results. In addition, the exceptional end result makes the collaboration a resounding success.” Should we receive more information, there will of course be an update for this report.
