Officially - Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 with over 830 PS!

In June announced, now it's official! The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 with over 830 hp is at the start. Automobili Lamborghini presents the Essenza SCV12, a racing hypercar developed by Lamborghini Squadra Corse and designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile in a limited series of 40 pieces. As the descendant of vehicles such as the Miura Jota and the Diablo GTR, the Essenza SCV12 is equipped with the most powerful 12-cylinder naturally aspirated engine ever developed by Lamborghini, and features aerodynamics based on the racing prototypes with brand-new technical solutions that ensure the ultimate driving experience .

The Essenza SCV12!

Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said: “The Essenza SCV12 offers an unprecedented driving experience on the racetrack in the history of our brand. A masterpiece of engineering that underlines the inseparable connection between our brand and racing. Lamborghini is a strongly future-oriented brand that is always looking for challenges in the name of innovation. But we never forget our roots and what distinguishes us as a super sports car manufacturer. The Essenza SCV12 represents the perfect fusion of our unconventional entrepreneurial spirit with a real motorsport passion."

Born for the racetrack!

The Essenza SCV12 is designed exclusively for racing use and comes up with technical solutions from racing. Last but not least, the V12 engine delivers over 830 hp thanks to dynamic supercharging at high speeds. The exhaust tailpipes developed in collaboration with Capristo reduce the back pressure and thus ensure higher performance and an unmistakable engine sound. The engine power is controlled by the brand new 6-speed X-trac transmission, which is installed transversely on the rear axle and coupled to the rear-wheel drive to ensure compactness, structural continuity and greater torsional rigidity. The sensational power to weight ratio of 1,66 kg / PS is achieved thanks to the new carbon fiber monocoque frame without a steel roll cage: the Essenza SCV12 is the first GT to meet the safety standards of the FIA prototype regulations.

For maximum agility and stability even on the most demanding routes, kinematic solutions based on the model of the racing prototypes were used, such as the push-rod rear suspension installed directly on the transmission. The special Pirelli slick tires on Magneium rims (19 ″ front / 20 ″ rear), which are equipped with brake discs and calipers from Brembo Motorsport, complete the overall impression.

Maurizio Reggiani, Chief Technical Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, explains: “In no other vehicle has the naturally aspirated V12 engine, the symbol of our brand from 1963 to the present, come into its own as well as in the Essenza SCV12. In this project, sophisticated aerodynamics, futuristic design and innovative solutions such as the carbon fiber monocoque without an integrated roll cage meet the art of engineering in its highest form. The result is a breathtaking, uncompromising vehicle that was born for the racetrack and has all the advantages that have made Lamborghini internationally famous - including unique emotions. "

Aerodynamics of the Essenza SCV12

The aerodynamics are the result of Lamborghini Squadra Corse's GT racing experience and, with 1.200 kg at 250 km / h, ensure more efficiency and downforce than a GT3 vehicle. The front is equipped with the double air inlet with center rib typical of Huracán racing cars, which divides the warm air flow coming from the radiator and directs the cold air to the air scoop in the center of the roof. Striking splinters and side elements also stand out on the front. On the sides, vertical fins on the sills ensure an optimized air flow for cooling the engine and transmission. The large, adjustable double-profile rear wing rounds off the aerodynamic package.

the design of the Essenza SCV12

The design of the Essenza SCV12 comes from the creative pen of Lamborghini Centro Stile, which has designed all racing cars from Sant'Agata Bolognese since the founding of Squadra Corse. The puristic character of the vehicle is emphasized by the body structure, which is made up of just three parts and is intended to ensure that it can be quickly replaced when making a pit stop. The exclusive launch paintwork in Verde Selvans (green), Grigio Lynx (gray), Nero Aldebaran Gloss (black) and Arancio California (orange) is rounded off by the logos of the Lamborghini Squadra Corse partners: Pertamina, Pirelli and Roger Dubuis.

The sleek and at the same time sinewy, dynamic lines combine the fascination of the prototypes from the 70s with typical elements of Lamborghini DNA such as the hexagon geometry, which can be found on the headlights, the air scoop on the roof and the ventilation grilles around the steering wheel. Also unmistakably the "Y" style element on the paintwork and in the interior, where every single element is designed with a focus on lightness, functionality and design: the dashboard and instrument cluster rest on an asymmetrical Y-beam element made of carbon, which stylishly surrounds the cockpit and puts the driver at the center of an unprecedented driving experience.

The multifunction steering wheel with display was inspired by the steering wheels of the F1 Monoposti to guarantee maximum ergonomics and a perfect feel. The special OMP seat with FIA approval and carbon frame offers comfort, safety and stability.

Mitja Borkert, Head of Lamborghini Centro Stile, explains: “The project inspired me from the start. Because it allowed us to design a completely different and yet unmistakable Lamborghini, extreme but very puristic, like a real racing car should be. Our main sources of inspiration were the Miura Jota and the Diablo GTR, two style icons with a V12 engine, which were created for racing. With the Essenza SCV12 we pay tribute to both our past and our present in racing: the large rear wing, the side fins and the front splitter were taken from the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO and GT3 EVO. This vehicle is the perfect fusion of our tradition with our ideas for the future."

Buyers of the Essenza SCV12 become members of an exclusive club that grants access to special driving programs that enable the hypercar to be used on the most prestigious racetracks in the world. The program includes a storage service for the Essenza SCV12 in Sant'Agata Bolognese in a newly built hangar.
