The Porsche Carrera GT type 980 has always been extremely rare and very exclusive. The 612PS - 10-cylinder flounder was brought onto the market 13 years ago and is still an absolute highlight today, both technically and optically. To preserve the vehicle's value and exclusivity, the GT was limited by Porsche to 1500 units and it was then ended as planned in April 2006. It is all the more astonishing that the Edo Competition team has already been allowed to refine 2 of the only 1270 customer vehicles. The tuner hired one back in September black GT before and now this silver model follows. The guys around the Edo Competition team released the 980er the days and of course we have to show it to you. We know that the Edo Competition can breathe a three-stage performance increase to 670, 715 or 770PS on request, but whether this GT has received the package is still unclear. What is clear, however, are the yellow accents all around, such as the lettering with the “Carrera GT” logo on the sides and the yellow brake calipers (possibly an optional Edo high-performance brake system) and of course the two-tone alloy wheels. Another noticeable feature are the matt black foiled doors that give the matching accent to the yellow foiling. After the tuning cure that the Carrera GT was allowed to endure, it is now even more exciting and individual than the production version and could even pass as a special model from Porsche.
Who in the future is thinking of buying a rare used Carrera GT or already owns one, Edo Competition is certainly an interesting starting point, even if the vehicle is only visually different from the production model. As for the changes made to the optics or the technology, we have already learned the first details. As usual, we have listed what we know below in a summary. If you discover any further changes that we haven't listed, just use the comment box and let us know!
Ps. If you have more tuned vehicles like this one BMW M3 E92 with Vorsteiner kit or even one Mercedes SLR McLaren from Edo Competition just click on the photo reference below on the tuner name!
