Ap Sportfahrwerke has been part of the KW automotive group since the beginning of May 2019 and is now increasingly developing coilovers for current automobiles. From now on, ap sports suspensions for all Avant and sedans of the Audi A4 series B9 (type B8, B81; from year of construction 10/2015) have coilovers in the delivery offer. Depending on the axle geometry of the Audi A4, the Avant and Sedan models can be lowered up to 65 millimeters on request. Thanks to the lower center of gravity and the damper design for sporty, harmonious driving behavior, the Audi A4 Avant and the Audi A4 Sedan lie more firmly on the road. In the automotive parts trade and in the dealer network of the KW automotive group, the ap coilovers are available from 729 euros including parts certificate.

Lowering range - 40 to 65 millimeters

Regardless of whether with quattro all-wheel drive or with front-wheel drive, ap Sportfahrwerke has introduced a coilover suspension for all Audi A4 in the B9 series (type B8, B81). The coilovers available from 729 euros with their galvanized steel struts and damper housing allow a stepless lowering of up to 65 millimeters. The tested stepless lowering range for the Audi A4 sedan with front-wheel drive is between 40 and 65 millimeters on both axles. Due to the axle construction and the lower center of gravity of the sedan with Audi quattro drive (all-wheel drive), the ap coilover kit enables a continuous lowering of 30 to 55 millimeters on the front axle and 35 to 65 millimeters on the rear axle.

With the combi models Audi A4 Avant, a stepless lowering from 35 to 60 millimeters can be set for both drive types, front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Thanks to the suspension design with its sporty, dynamic spring rates and sporty, harmonious damper tuning, a comparatively good level of driving comfort is maintained despite the maximum lowering. KW automotive grants a two-year warranty on the coilover suspensions from ap Sportfahrwerke when properly installed, such as in the enclosed parts certificate and installation instructions by automotive workshops. Due to the legal requirements for the minimum clearances for vehicles with natural gas drive, the coilovers are not available for the Audi A4 Avant g-tron

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
