ARES performance announced it a long time ago and now they are serious! After moving to a nearly 18.000 m² factory earlier this year, they are set to go full throttle and want to build 53's special Land Rover Defender. The highlight of the modified Defender is the V8 engine and of course the extensive changes to the body. But also the many changes in the interior as well as the completely new setup of the chassis are part of it and in the end ensure that an almost completely new vehicle passes into the hands of the owners.

co-owner Waleed Al Ghafari self-confidently describes the conversion as "Defender of all Defenders". Under the hood is a 278 PS & 439 NM powerful V8 that originally saw the light of day as a 4,5-liter V8 from Land Rover. The increase in performance is achieved by increasing the displacement to 4.748 cm³, new camshafts, revised cylinder heads and larger injection nozzles. A soundscape similar to that of a sports car is also created by tailor-made manifolds, an ITG air intake system and a Milltek sports exhaust system including sports catalytic converters with bypass valves and four tailpipes.

If that's not enough for you, you can also order a compressor variant, which also has a 4,7 l displacement and then strengthens to 468 PS & 649 NM and thus surprises some athletes at the start. Regardless of which engine the customer chooses, gear changes are always made with a six-speed tiptronic automatic. And off the beaten track, the completely redesigned Fox chassis helps either by raising the height by 75 mm for the vacuum V8 or 50 mm for the compressor version. There is also a set of robust 18 inch rims from our own production that are equipped with 305/70 R18 Cooper off-road tires. All in all, the Defender is significantly higher.

Braked is the huge load with a AP Racing Brake system with six-piston calipers and 362 × 32 mm discs in the front and an optimized system on the rear axle. And so that the new wheel set is not free and throws stones around it, there were many changes to the body. Huge fender flares are installed all around which are fastened with open screwed connections and cover the wheels in accordance with the regulations. There is a new bonnet, headlight fairings, a modified grille, new front and rear bumpers, and a strong underrun protection. If the worst comes to the worst, massive towing hitches are installed at the front and rear, and the cabin can be reached with side-step treads.

Some parts of the body are made of high-quality and ultralight carbon. Small details such as additional lights, an upward suction snorkel or the massive WARN winch complete the changes on the outside. And the cabin will also be completely redesigned on request and will convince you with lots of practical details and luxury. There are tailor-made seats with hand-stitched leather and carbon accents, and an electronic parking brake is now available in the Defender.

The carpet cladding has been removed and sturdy but very high-quality checker plate has been installed instead. In addition, there is a completely redesigned steering wheel, lots of other accents in chrome and aluminum as well as elegant sports pedals and an exclusive badge with a consecutive serial number. If we receive information about changes that have not been made before us, there will of course, as always, be an update for this report.
