Limited retro roadster: the Aston Martin DBR22!

Aston Martin is showing the spectacular at Monterey Car Week 2022 and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance DBR22. This is a two-seater design concept with a V12 engine. And the company has said it will build some of them. The exact number has not (yet) been given. As with the Vulcan or the V600, we estimate there are fewer or a maximum of 30 vehicles. More specifically, the car comes from Aston's 'bespoke' division Q and is a birthday present to himself for the tenth anniversary of the in-house tuning department. With the successful curves of the DBR22, the lack of a Windshield and the towering bonnet one interprets a homage to the racing cars from the 1950s, in particular the DB3S and the DBR1.

The radiator grill is even based directly on the DBR1. But the overall exterior is unique to the DBR22. Whether it's the headlights or the rear light bar are in full width. In addition, everything is made of carbon fiber. And the Interior is also unique, as most surfaces, including the carbon seats, are covered with leather. And since it's a Q Division vehicle, the buyer can customize just about anything. Only the engine is specified. One will be installed BiTurbo 5,2 liter V12 with 712 hp and 753 Nm torque. He sends his power over one Eight-speed automatic to the rear wheels. the top speed is 319 km/h and it accelerates from zero to country road speed in just 3,4 seconds. It is not known Platform, on which the DBR22 is based. But it should have similarities with that of the DB11 and DBS. However, with some technical changes and a special tuning of the adaptive shock absorbers.

There is also a new rear subframe. It consists of several 3D-printed aluminum parts that are connected to each other. However, Aston Martin has not yet announced when construction of the DBR22 vehicles will begin or when orders will be taken. However, we would not be surprised if the company has already found all buyers and no more vehicles are available. The DBR22 will be on display at the 2022 Monterey Car Week & Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report.
