For the ultimate fresh air fans and lovers of historic automobiles, Aston Martin has a few details about a very special version of the V12 Speedster released. As is well known, there should only be 88 times, and always without a roof and windshield. And the DBR1 specification is included. It is also intended to be a reminder of the Le Mans original from 1959 (debut in 1956). The DBR1 from back then won, for example, the Spa Sportscar Race (1957, Tony Brooks), the Goodwood Tourist Trophy (1958, Sir Stirling Moss, Tony Brooks; 1959 Carroll Shelby, Jack Fairman, Sir Stirling Moss) and also the 1.000 km on the Nürburgring (1959, Sir Stirling Moss & Jack Fairman). Instead of the 3,0-liter in-line six-cylinder engine and the five-speed gearbox from David Brown from the original, which weighs only 800 kg, the V12 Speedster DBR1 has, of course, as the name suggests, a thick one V12.

V12 with around 700 hp and 753 Nm

The 5,2 liter V12 twin turbo engine is said to be round 700 PS and 753 Nm afford and to a 8-speed automatic be coupled by ZF (in the rear). So the V12 Speedster goes to 100 km / h in just 3,4 seconds and allows a top speed of 318 km/h. And all of that without windshield. Incidentally, the original “only” achieved an estimated maximum speed of a little over 240 km/h. The Aston Martin V12 Speedster DBR1 is visually painted in “Aston Martin Racing Green", there is something decoration, Round sticker in Clubsport White and a grille that is anodized. Inside are against it in the athlete Conker saddle leather, technical textile in Viridian Green and Caithness leather installed.
