Restomod 1989 Aston Martin V8 Volante Zagato Convertible!

On collecting cars there was a super rare one recently 1989 Aston Martin V8 Volante Zagato convertible as a Restomod to be auctioned. The auction ended on February 2nd with a bid of handsome 170.000 €. The vehicle was completely restored and a was installed under the hood 5,3 liter V8 with fuel injection and round 315 PS and automatic transmission. The car was built on November 10, 1989 and was originally painted in Rolls-Royce Navy Blue with a magnolia leather interior and dark blue piping. The right-hand drive was registered as the G3 KPW on January 1990, 880 and remained in the care of private collectors. In 2012 there was the restoration from Aston Martin Works with color change, Conversion to LHD, improved Suspension and braking system and a new gearbox. The V8 EFi engine has been completely revised and all rubber hoses for cooling and air conditioning have been renewed, along with the drive belts and auxiliary belts.

The engine cooling system got electric fan and one "Tropical Climate" cooler to the side and also a new one Starter was installed. There was also a completely new one Sports exhaust system made of stainless steel and the factory Three-speed Torqueflite transmission was through a special Six-speed automatic replaced. The rear differential was also completely overhauled. Other mechanical improvements were a AP Racing Package for the front brake with larger and thicker discs and Six-piston brake calipers. And there was also an easier one Aluminum AP racing master cylinder. The landing gear is now from Koni and is part of the 'Enhanced Handling Pack' with stiffer stabilizers, Changes to the Handlebars and a revision of the suspension geometry. Visually there was only one Third Stoplight in the trunk lid and, as mentioned, a new one Painting. In the Bentley Magnolia shade. The paint even conceals them Parking cameras front and rear in body color. The Zagato rims of that time have been made from classic 16 inch aluminum since the restoration Replaces Ronal.

And the cabin?

The cream-colored interior, equipped with electrically adjustable 8-way seats, was only worked up. Only the shift knob was due to the new gearbox with a Aluminum button and a wooden cabinet replaced. The steering wheel is covered with dark blue leather and the instrumentation with white speedometer dials and red needles goes perfectly with it. The speedometer unit even has one Display for the gear engaged with it. Acoustically another one takes care of it 7 inch head unit from Alpine with integrated satellite navigation for an appropriate sound system and thus the changes were impressively rounded off.
