From Atlas to Arteon - 5 VW Tuning Cars at Wörthersee

And it's over again - for 1 year the VW tuning scene was looking forward to the annual Wörthersee meeting in Reifnitz and the number 37 was then on May 12.05.2018, XNUMX (9. to 12. May 2018) history again. Regardless of whether it's a brutally deep VW Caddy, classic Golf 1, modern Audi A5 Sportback or countless VW Passats. Also this year, there was hardly a VW model missing in Reifnitz. And like every year, Volkswagen also shows what they can do in cooperation with well-known tuners if they are allowed to. The Wolfsburg-based company took five exciting vehicles to the Wörthersee as “Enthusiasts Fleet” for Volkswagen of America and we would like to show you briefly. There it is VW Atlas Tanner Foust SEMA Conceptwhich  VW Golf R Abstract Concept,  VW Jetta R-Line SoCal, of VW Arteon R-Line highlight and the deep VW Tiguan R-Line Aero.

2018 VW Atlas Tanner Foust SEMA Concept

Here comes a monster from the American company LGE CTS Motorsports in cooperation with the US racing driver and rally driver Tanner Foust (we know about the mistake 900PS Passat) was set up. The tuner based in San Dimas, California grabbed a brand new VW Atlas and converted the lifestyle SUV into a radical off-roader with studded tires and wheel arch extensions. Everything that was not needed was quickly flexed away. The German TÜV would be happy ... Huge BF Goodrich balloon rubbers are now installed on particularly solid KMC rims, which even protrude from the wheel arch with the angular fender flares.

The front apron was cut off and modeled with a custom box made of metal and yards of tubing. With this angle of slope there should be no stopping, no matter where. The roof got a large roof rack with additional lights that were screwed directly onto the Atlas without taking any losses into account. A ladder is installed at the rear for the ascent to a lofty height. Inside, on the other hand, it is much less aggressive. The occupants are enthroned on seats with a GTI look that have a matching "Jacky" check pattern.

2018 VW Golf R Abstract Concept

That is obvious! The shrill 2018 VW Golf R with DCC stands out especially by the crazy camouflage! Incidentally, he calls himself officially "2018 Golf R Abstract concept modified by ABT". The Wolfsburg got a multi-colored camouflage look all around and also rolls on 20-sized FR design rims in the stylish Mystic Black (five double spokes, indicated central locking optics, partly front polished) from the tuner ABT Sportsline come and thanks MR Sport springs sit perfectly in the wheel arch. The springs ensure that the "R" moves approx. 2,5 cm closer to the asphalt. From the traditional tuner ABT Sportsline come the side skirts as well as a performance upgrade and a 4-pipe sports exhaust system made of stainless steel with matt black 4-inch tailpipes. And there is also a lot new inside, for example there are chic carbon fiber inserts on the steering wheel. The camouflage design is intended to be reminiscent of the urban street art of the Wynwood Art District in Miami, Florida, where the North American office of the tuner ABT is also based.

2019 VW Jetta R-Line SoCal

Of course, a modified VW Jetta could not be missing. And of course there is a reason. The seventh generation of the Jetta is currently premiering in the United States and so the 2019 VW Jetta R-Line SoCal would like to celebrate the presentation of the sedan in the United States. Packed in a chic R-Line design, the Jetta R-Line SoCal comes with bold colors and is inspired by the Mk2 VW Jetta (Type 16E / 19E, later 1G2) to buy it from 1984 to 1992. Particularly striking are the fluorescent yellow mirror caps and the glossy black roof with fluorescent applications. Brightly flashy are also some design elements on the white painted Fifteen52 Formula GT alloy wheels and even the R emblem in the grille.

Leading the way in this project was also the rim label Fifteen52 The KW automotive ST XTA coilover suspension ensures that the wheelset sits perfectly in the wheel arch. After all, the suspension ensures that the vehicle height can be varied by a whopping 7,5 cm. By the way, the wheel set was decided on the dimensions 8,5 x 19 inches all around and we can be curious what in the course of time is still doing at the Wolfsburg. The tuner has namely announced, during the season to make further tuning measures on the Jetta.

2019 VW Arteon R-Line Highlight

If you overlook this, it is your own fault! It does not need a body kit or extra large alloy wheels to stand out from the series, a shrill foil is almost completely sufficient. The chic Arteon comes from the American rim label Vossen Wheels and impresses with the powerful and coupé-like line as well as skillfully made tuning. Of course, a new wheel set shouldn't be missing, but it's not an extremely large format that attracts everyone's attention, but just the right combination as we find it.

Vossen Wheels has that Arteon R-Line highlight concept on tailor-made 9,5 x 20 inch rims put the thanks H&R height-adjustable spring system sitting perfectly in the wheel arch and let the Arteon, as well as the above-mentioned VW Jetta, on request whopping 7,5 cm (maximum) in the direction of the road. But unlike the Jetta, the Arteon has been completely "wrapped" in a fluorescent matte yellow and elegantly contrasted with lots of black R-Line accents. It definitely does not take more to skillfully stage.

2018 VW Tiguan R-Line Aero

And last but not least, there's even a more spacey camouflage look. This VW Tiguan got a crazy pixel look missed as we have it in a similar version already BMW M6 F06 on ADV.1 Wheels have seen. And here, too, there are plenty of fluorescent accents, for example on the front bumper, the radiator grille, the VW emblem or on the mirror caps. In contrast to the M6 that has just been linked, the Wolfsburg does not have an ADV.1 wheel set but stands on a set of Rotiform 20-inch monoblock CCV rims in matt black that are consistently pressed into the wheel arches using Airride air suspension from Air Lift Performance.

In contrast to the vehicles above, the Tiguan maximum 12 cm can be lowered, which leads to this SUV partly stuck closer to the ground than a lowered VW Arteon. And completely im Styles by Jon Olsson the Tiguan also got a chic roof box that also wears the camo look. The box is from the manufacturer Thule and is called Motion XT Alpine. The Tiguan is rounded off with all-round tinted windows that we probably never get registered in Germany.
