After the successful first generation of the A4 Allroad, it was clear that Audi would also bring the off-road version of the A9 Avant with the B4. The first generation, based on the A4 B8, hit the market in spring 2009 and received a facelift in autumn 2011. Last year, however, the second generation based on the Audi A2016 B4 was presented at NAIAS (January 9) and the facelift of the B8 can no longer keep up. Everything has become a bit more noble, distinctive and chic and especially the angular headlights and the matching radiator grille look even more adult. Technically, the A4 allroad quattro differs from the normal A4 Avant in that it has all-wheel drive installed as standard, increased ground clearance, exposed and protected fenders at the front and rear or the stainless steel underrun protection on the front and rear.

But especially from the 24 to 34 mm (depending on the wheel size) increased ground clearance, nothing at all can be seen in this example. On the contrary, it was decided here to convince the air suspension by means of electronic intervention to move the body of the Ingolstadt clearly towards the road. But not only the lowering makes the difference but also the new Vossen Wheels VFS-5 (VFS5) wheel set in 20 inches. The 5-double-spokes perfectly match the elegant silhouette of the Aavant and, especially in connection with the lowering, the set-up couldn't be better. Apart from a THULE roof box, there seem to have been no further changes compared to the production vehicle and this copy impressively proves that no longer needs to be done at all.

The new chassis setup alone makes the A4 Allroad appear completely different and certainly ensures that a lot of heads will turn. There isn't much more to say about the car so we leave it with the pictures. Of course, if we get more information about the modifications to the A4 B9 Avant, there is, as always, an update for this report. The best thing is to subscribe to our feed and if there is something new you will be informed immediately. We hope you enjoy looking at the pictures.
