At the IAA 2015 Audi showed the harbinger of the upcoming Q6 -> Name: e-tron quattro concept, The look in Audis digital electric future is damn chic! Powered purely electrically, the noble SUV gives a concrete view of the completely new series, which was officially announced for 2018. Potential opponents? Clearly that Tesla Model X. And what distinguishes the e-tron? The huge radiator grille, for example, with five eye-catching chrome cross struts and the e-tron logo. Evil looking headlights in an extremely angular front. With modern millimeter thin OLED technology, of course. There are also many new features on the sides, such as the solid shoulder line and the coupé-like roof that slopes down to the rear and is also equipped with solar cells. And the rear is also noticeable, here lights were installed that are also equipped with wafer-thin OLED elements and also bring the future to the rear. The light lamellas under the completely continuous tail light strip take up the look of the position lights from the front.
the future is also deep and broad
Another highlight are the moving aerodynamic parts on the Audi Concept. It is thanks to them that the electric Audi achieves an impressive drag coefficient of 0,25, which in turn leads to the maximization of the range increasing to more than 500 kilometers. The work of the designers was tough: For example, a front hood was developed where flaps open from 80 km / h so that the airstream can flow through the entire front of the car. There is also pure technology in the back because small flaps run out here. At the rear, the extendable diffuser and the rear spoiler also improve the aerodynamic top value of the e-tron quattro concept. Even the classic rear-view mirrors are omitted in the vision. Retractable mini cameras were installed here that have everything in view towards the rear and transmit the image into the interior. Surely unfamiliar when you've looked in the exterior mirror for decades! Other tricks such as the construction of the passenger cell or the automatically lowering air suspension are also important components. And of course the interior is more than just future-oriented! If you press the recessed door opener lightly, it moves outwards and releases the door to open. The cockpit of the e-tron quattro concept got the steering wheel from the Prologue study as well as the slightly concave central instrument, which is of course also equipped with modern OLED technology. As already mentioned, the instinctive look into the exterior mirrors this time leads completely to nowhere. With the Concept there are no classic mirrors on the right and left, but modern screens do their job in the door panels. But now enough about the concept without tuning ...
23 Zöller & electronic lowering
We wanted to know what the future of Audi could look like in the tuning sector. To do this, we approached the matter very simply and only installed a set of new alloy wheels and lowered the e-tron quattro significantly. 😏 If you consider that the vehicle, as already mentioned, has a standard air suspension, this type of lowering is not that unrealistic. For the rims, we opted for 23 inch Hamann Anniversary Evo rims in gloss black which, with their multi-spoke look and the lowering mentioned, fit perfectly into the wheel arches. Finally, we tinted the windows completely and darkened the Audi emblem. This is what a promising high-tech car with classic tuning measures could look like.
We have made the following virtual changes:
- significant lowering (lowering of the standard air suspension)
- 23 Inch Hamann Anniversary Evo Rims (Glossy Black)
- Slices completely tinted
- Darkened Audi emblem
Now our question to you, what do you think of that? Would you like the Audi-e-tron Quattro as modified by us on the computer or would that be “too much” and yet a number too blatant?
