And on it goes with the power plants from Ingolstadt. After the already presented in 2016 820PS RS6 C7 Avant and the most up to date RS7 Performance Sportback from this morning has the German tuner wheelsandmore a third vehicle at the start. What is certain is that summer will not be long in coming and what could be more obvious than modifying a convertible / Spyder? While the sister company Lamborghini, in Sant'Agata Bolognese (Italy), would like to tackle the summer of 2017 with various performance upgrades for the Huracan, little is currently happening in Ingolstadt. And that's exactly why Wheelsandmore set out to develop a power pack for the R8 V10 + and yesterday presented a modified Spyder that Lamborghini & Co. can forget. A white lacquered beauty that was visually only very discreetly modified but puts everyone in the shade under the hood.
The optical highlight are definitely the ultra-concave multi-part FIWE alloy wheels that measure 20 inches (9,0 × 20) on the steering axis and fill the rear wheel arches in 21 inch (12,0 × 21) format. The new wheel set is fitted with Michelin Pilot Supersport tires on the front axle in 245/30/20 and in the rear in 325/25/21. So that the wheel set sits absolutely consistently and optically perfect in the wheel arch, the body was left a few millimeters in the direction of the road by means of adjustable coil springs and finished. The optics, but now the really important! The second generation of the R8 (type 4S) already delivers breathtaking performance ex works, especially in the version as V10 plus 5.2 FSI. As in the Lamborghini Huracán, the V10 engine produces 610 PS & 560 NM torque that has no problems with the 1.630 kg curb weight. In just 3,2 seconds it goes to 100 km / h and only at a brilliant 330 km / h is the propulsion stopped. But apparently not enough for Wheelsandmore, who use an elaborately modified drive to get the R8 V10 + moving.
The tuner installs a compressor system (B3AST² kit) which, in combination with a modified flap exhaust system, leads to a full 800PS and 810Nm torque. With it, the WAM-R8 makes a Lamborghini Aventador SV, a Ferrari F12 tdf and even the brand new McLaren 720S forgotten. While the F12tdf and the 720S need around 100 seconds to sprint to 2,9 km / h, the R8 from wheelsandmore can do it in just 2,6 seconds. This is even enough for the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV because it takes 2,8 seconds for the sprint. After only 8,5 seconds the 200 km / h sound barrier is broken and with undiminished acceleration the orgy continues unabated up to well over 300 km / h.
It is difficult with an Audi R8 of understatement to speak, one puts this against the spacey Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV, and takes into account the fact that 50 PS & 120 NM torque are also available, one can certainly from the proverbial "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing“Speak and attest a certain reluctance to the R8. And the R8 has another advantage over the vehicles mentioned above: With him you can do the whole "open“Enjoy!
