The DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS: safety and comfort
The RS 3 already has a number of driver assistance systems as standard, which ensure a high level of safety and increase driving comfort. With the help of the front radar, Audi pre sense front detects possible dangerous situations in front of the vehicle and warns the driver with optical and acoustic signals. In this way, accidents with other vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists can in many cases be avoided or their severity reduced. The avoidance assistant, another standard safety system, helps drivers to steer around an obstacle. Steering corrections are also initiated by the lane departure warning, which is also standard. The turning assistant supports you when you turn left with braking intervention if there is a risk of a collision with the oncoming vehicle. The cruise control system including the speed limiter and the parking assistant with parking aid plus for finding a suitable parking space along the road are also standard. The parking assistant can automatically steer the car into parallel and perpendicular parking spaces - the driver only has to accelerate, brake and engage the gear.
The most complex system is the adaptive driver assistant, which can largely relieve drivers of steering, accelerating and braking up to a speed of 210 km / h. It maintains a constant speed and distance from the vehicle in front and helps to stay in lane by gently intervening in the steering. The adaptive driver assistant is available as an individual option or as a large driver assistance package with MMI navigation plus. The high beam and emergency assistants are also part of the package. It also includes the parking assistant and camera-based traffic sign recognition. The lane change and exit warnings as well as the rear cross traffic assistant are also helpful in city traffic.
