The fate of family station wagons is not a good star. Due to the global SUV boom, this automotive category is in acute danger of extinction, as it is playing an ever smaller role in Europe and is practically not represented on the world market. Just like the three-door models of the car manufacturers, the station wagons are often affected when it comes to the deletion of unattractive and expensive models, which cannot be sold as often to men or women. However, the Audi company sees the topic quite differently, since the RS4 Avant is, for example, a model that does not require a limousine derivative and is only available as a station wagon. And it has been very successful for years. In the eyes of Ingolstadt, the station wagon also has a future in an SUV-dominated car world and, above all, as sporty RS models, the Avant models from Audi are very popular with car fans from all over the world.
Special model for the British market
Now the British are getting an exclusive special series of the sporty RS4 Avant, which "RS4 Avant Bronze Edition“And is limited to only 25 pieces. In Vesuvius gray (or myth black), the very special Audi RS4 Avant attracts everyone's attention, above all thanks to the 20-inch rims painted in bronze, which were launched exclusively for this edition of Audi Sport. In addition, the grill and front air intakes are painted in a glossy black, while the carbon front spoiler lip was kept in a matt black tone. The roof rails and window frames are also all black, creating a particularly sporty impression. Only the forearm-thick tailpipes of the RS4 Avant Bronze Edition appear in the usual manner and are not painted black, but shine in aluminum silver. Together with the bronze rims, this results in a great color contrast, which again emphasizes the sporty position of the Audi. In addition, the standard exhaust was replaced by a special sports exhaust system from Audi Sport GmbH to signal in traffic that this is a particularly sporty example.
Nothing has been changed on the drive
In terms of drive technology, the Audi RS4 Avant Bronze Edition has the well-known 2,9-liter V6 biturbo petrol engine, which delivers 450 hp and a powerful 600 Newton meters of maximum torque. The power transmission takes place via an eight-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic function and thanks to the standard Quattro all-wheel drive, which transmits 60 percent of the power to the rear axle in normal driving mode, the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h takes a whopping 4,1 seconds. The top speed is unfortunately electronically limited to 250 kilometers per hour, but if the lock is removed, 300 km / h should also be possible without any problems. The electronic speed limit is probably the only downer in this sporty family combination, which with its exclusive details is a particularly fascinating example of its kind.
25 times only in England? Maybe not…
The 25 British customers, who enjoy this unique limited edition of the Ingolstadt, can count themselves lucky that they can call one of the most exclusive sports suits in the world their own. The car is also fully equipped and there are no extras that have to be ordered separately. So the list price in England is £ 82.300, which is equivalent to about 92.000 euros. In view of the exclusivity of this model, this is a very fair price and it may well be that the limited special series is already sold out, as many Audi fans are sure to dream of such an RS4.
