Baojun

The Baojun car brand was founded in 2010 by the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture, and the brand name means “cherished horse”. The first model was the less successful Baojun 630, which was available both as a sedan and as a compact hatchback. However, with the continuous expansion of the model range and the introduction of various SUV models and small cars, the brand advanced to become one of the most popular brands in China. The technology of the models comes from the GM shelf and the engines are used in both Chevrolet and older Opel models. A special feature of the brand is the use of two different logos, which are intended to illustrate the different price classes and target groups of the models. In terms of tuning, the brand is still in its infancy, but thanks to the tried and tested GM technology and turbo engines, it is no rocket science to increase the performance of a Baojun. Optical tuning is still relatively rare at Baojun, but that will certainly change over time, as the brand brings up to 1 million vehicles per year to men and women in the Middle Kingdom.
