The old 8-series coupe of the E31 series is one of the most popular BMW models ever. Although the E31 was certainly not the great success that BMW had hoped for, decades later it is still a sought-after classic. And the video below shows a rare right-hand drive 840Ci which will be on display at the Telford International Center at Ultimate Dubs 2023. If you don't know the tuning show, it's actually intended for fans of VAG vehicles. But other brands can also participate. And the team of Car audio security has the 8er with an Air Lift Performance Smart Air suspension prepared. And since there was no off-the-shelf Airride for the first generation 8 Series, one had to be specially developed.
Air suspension in the classic BMW 8 Series
Some of the worn undercarriage components were previously restored or directly replaced and changes were also required for the airlift kit. To install the air suspension, the trunk had to be modified to accommodate the air tank and the compressors. The result shows a lot clean trunk. After the Ultimate Dubs Show, the vehicle will probably receive further changes to accommodate a high-end sound system.
