This BMW 3 Series Touring with the internal designation E30 has a very special engine under the hood. The vehicle was built by Castro Motorsports from Los Angeles, who specialize in maintaining and modifying BMWs. The car was converted to the popular M3 look and uses a 316 Touring from 1991 as the basis. A heavily modified S54 BMW engine provides for propulsion, which now has approx. 470 hp (350 kilowatts). at the wheel accomplishes. The engine power should be around 540 HP (403 kW). Considering only 1.360 kilograms, the six-cylinder, including six-speed manual transmission from a 2001-2006 E46 330i, should have little trouble. For the chassis, the tuner uses components from different BMW models and the 17 inch BBS Style wheelset with 215/40 R17 tires is converted to 5-holes, which enables the use of larger M3 (E36) brakes. In the cabin there is air conditioning and sports leather seats and on the outside the 3 Series Touring has been given the aprons of the E30 M3.

About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
