Tuning a plug-in hybrid is relatively simple compared to an electric car. At least if you only look at the Combustion engines concentrated under the hood. The best example is this inconspicuous 330e, with a Stage 1 performance upgrade from 292 hp and 420 Nm to whopping 420 PS and tight 720 Nm torque. This is easily on the level of an E92 M3 and even surpasses the E39 M5. Crazy what has happened in this regard in recent years. With the increase in performance, the plug-in hybrid sports sedan is of course really fast. The tuning reduces the sprint to country road speed by almost a second 4,86 seconds. At the same time, the tuned petrol engine in combination with the electric motor now leaves the 330e instead of the 233 255 km/h run. The result shows that the four-cylinder B48 engine has enormous potential, and the curb weight of 1.740 kg is only 40 kg higher than that of an M3 with xDrive. At least geradeaus so there are hardly any reasons for the M3!

About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
