The typical BMW M enthusiasts see the M2 as the purest M currently on offer. With a compact body and a six-cylinder that only drives the rear wheels, it most closely resembles the original M3 of the E30 series. And CarWow wanted to know how the M2 Competition would fare against the E36 and E46 M3 in a drag race. All have six-cylinder engines, but the M2 is of course much newer and equipped with two turbochargers. So it should be much faster !? And all vehicles are equipped with manual gearboxes, which means that starting is not that easy. The red E36 M3 has a new downpipe and, as far as we know, chip tuning and a total of 300 PS available. Since it is a US model, it would actually have "only" 240 hp. At around 36 kg, the E1.400 is also the lightest car. The E46 M3 that Mat Watson drives is around 170 kg heavier, but has the larger 3,2-liter six-cylinder with 343 hp. The S54 for the American and Canadian markets is officially listed with 333 hp. And then there is the competition with 410 hp six-cylinder from the BMW M4. Have fun watching!
