Can a tuned BMW M240i keep up with the seemingly overwhelming competition in the form of a Porsche 911 Carrera S and the BMW M3 (F80) in a drag race over half a mile? The following video is intended to answer exactly this question. There a significantly modified BMW M240i of type F22 competes against a brand new 992 Porsche 911 Carrera S and a BMW M3 Competition of the F80 series. There were hardly any visual changes to the M240i, but something has changed under the hood. The B58 six-cylinder (also installed in the M340i and the Toyota Supra) in the M240i, as is well known, has two turbochargers installed and in the series condition produces a remarkable 340 PS (250 kW) and 500 NM torque.

And the M240i from the video, with 6-speed manual gearbox, even has 490 PS (365 kW) "on the bike" thanks to chip tuning and a few other changes, which should correspond to around 550-570 PS engine power. He competes against an M3 Competition that has not received any changes apart from a Burble-Tune software for the exhaust. With its 3-liter six-cylinder S3,0, the M55 Competition delivers an impressive 450 hp and also has a 6-speed manual transmission installed. And then there is the 992 Porsche 911 Carrera S with PDK double-clutch automatic transmission and EA9A2 six-cylinder boxer engine. It produces 450 hp and 530 Nm of torque.
