"After we presented our new BMW SIM Cup formats at BMW SIM Live last December, things are now getting serious, because the first race is just around the corner“, Says Rudolf Dittrich, Head of BMW Motorsport SIM Racing. "The anticipation is correspondingly great to see how our new racing formats and the wider range of BMW racing vehicles are received by the sim racing community. We are now active on three major platforms with iRacing, rFactor 2 and Assetto Corsa Competizione, which means that we are once again reaching significantly more active sim racers and their fans compared to last year. Of course, we hope that this will bring many high-class participants, but also competent feedback on our race formats and vehicles, which will help us to keep improving. I'm particularly looking forward to spectacular events - both during the season and at the big finals as part of BMW SIM Live 2021."

BMW SIM GT Cup - iRacing.

The BMW SIM GT Cup is the successor to the BMW SIM 120 Cup. Spread over two seasons, a total of ten races will take place in 2021. In the five rounds of season 1, the sim racers compete against each other in teams of two in the BMW M8 GTE. In season 2, the new BMW M4 GT3 will be the emergency vehicle for the teams. The winners of the first four races of the season qualify directly for the big annual finale at BMW SIM Live 2021. In addition, there are the two best-placed teams in the fifth races of the season. In the first four runs of each season, the top three teams will receive prize money totaling US $ 4.200 per event. As in 2020, the races will again be 120 minutes long and include a mandatory driver change. The races of the first season in the BMW M8 GTE have already been scheduled. The start will take place on January 17th on the virtual “Daytona International Speedway”. When and on which routes the races of the second season in the BMW M4 GT3 will be held will be announced at a later date.

This results in changing racetracks for the BMW one-make cup, which so far has only been on the Nürburgring and the Nordschleife. As with the BMW SIM GT Cup, two seasons are planned here over the course of the year. They should each include six races. It starts on March 8th on the course in Imola.
