BMW X3 M - Tuning on the S58B30 engine leads to 861 hp!

BMW M GmbH is known to install the new S3B97 in-line six with biturbo charging in the X4 M (F98) and X58 M (F30). And the engine will probably also fire the upcoming M3 and M4. Probably even with a few more horsepower and torque. And from the company MHD tuning from Berlin now comes a preview of the incredible possibilities with the S58 engine. The tuner proudly announced yesterday that it had reached a new record in terms of an increase in performance on the 6-cylinder. In fact, it was possible to push the engine of a current X3 M to an insane 861 PS and 1.056 NM torque. An incredible result with one Specific output from 287 hp. Compared to the X3 M Competition, this means an increase in performance of 351 PS and a huge 456 NM torque.

That means the X3M also gets the performance of one Ford Focus RS or a Mercedes A 45 AMG (W176) The tuner wins the bid with specially matched MHD chip tuning from PureBoost, there were also high-quality LM900 turbochargers from Ladermanufaktur GmbH from Gütersloh and downpipes from Supersprint Exhaust Systems from Mal are installed. In combination with a Deafpool sports exhaust system, the engine, which has basically remained in its original condition, enables and without OEM petrol supply WMI injection the huge leap in performance in the X3 M of the F97 series. By the way, MHD also has other power levels at 700 or 800 hp. Either way, the result that the 3,0-liter inline six-cylinder is capable of is extremely impressive and probably not even the end of the story.

What could an MHD 2021 BMW M3 / M4 do?

It will be interesting to see what the exact key data of the new M3 and M4 will be and which modifications BMW will give the six-seater on the way from the factory. And of course it will be even more interesting to see how the MHD tuning components will affect the engine. We believe that an output of around 1.000 hp and 1.200 Nm torque for the new M3 and M4 with other tuning components is not in the impossible.
