Can the supposedly weaker BMW X7 M50i (G07) actually keep up with the Mercedes-AMG G 63 (W463A)? Drag racing used to be a thing for muscle cars and supercars. But these days, most vehicles, including performance SUVs, are tested against each other on the racetrack. But are drag races even relevant for massive SUVs? Not really. But it's fun! And anyone who has ever wondered how the G 63 fares against the X7 M50i will get the answer with this video. The current G 63 has a 4,0 liter V8 (M 177 DE 40 AL) with two turbochargers and weighs around 2.560 kilograms. It makes 585 PS, has 850 NM torque, and accelerates to 100 km / h in about 4,5 seconds. In the other corner we have the BMW X7 M50i with a 4,4-liter V8 (N63B44T3) and also two turbochargers. It makes 530 PS and 750 NM torque and with an officially 2.555 kilogram curb weight does not really bring less mass. The test of track day includes three races. There is a race from 60 to 125 miles per hour (approx. 200 km / h) in automatic mode, one from 30 to 120 miles (approx. 193 km / h) with automatic and one from 30 to 120 miles (approx. 193 km) in manual mode. Who wins? Check it out!
