The following time attack (Time Attack) is the perfect challenge for man and machine. Specifically for one Mazda MX-5 Turbo, a BMW M3 CSL (E46) and one Lotus Exige 430 Cup. They have to compete against each other in France. On the race and test track Anneau-du-Rhin. Which vehicle is the fastest on the three-kilometer stage? The rare BMW M3 CSL with an unladen weight of just 1.340 kg and 360 PS? He still has one Brembo GT brake kit built in, but the competition in the form of the much more agile Lotus should be hard to beat.

And what about the MX-5 as an underdog? The first generation model got one in particular, among many other changes Turbo conversion. And so the model from 1990 almost has it now 265 PS and only weighs 960 kg. And then there is the aforementioned Lotus Exige 430 Cup. At 1.100 kg, it is a little heavier than the MX-5, but at the same time has heavy 430 PS on board and is more of a thoroughbred racing car than a road vehicle. Who wins? The video gives the resolution!

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
