RaceChip wanted to know, can the BMW M340i performance model be brought up to the level of the M4? What does the latest generation of the B58 six-cylinder in the M340i do? With 374 PS & 500 NM, there are already significantly more PS and torque than the predecessor. Add the xDrive all-wheel drive and you have the most powerful version of the 3 Series! And the RaceChip team wanted to find out how much performance the latest generation makes possible with chip tuning, a lightweight performance / titanium exhaust system and downpipe. In addition, the vehicle is wrapped in the typical M colors and has been lowered using Eibach components. And it is a US model that comes with 387 hp from the factory and even delivered 405 hp on the test bench. The downpipe alone brings the M340i to 435 PS & 554 NM. And with the RaceChip GTS Black there are even 460 PS & 617 NM with a factory downpipe. Both together allow the M340i to strengthen to almost 480 PS & 661 NM torque. It's really tough! The video shows you the result. And it also shows you a comparison with the M4 Competition, which shows which car is faster on the straight.

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
