RaceChip Chiptuning GmbH & Co. KG has recently taken on the new 4,4 liter BiTurbo V8 (N63B44) of the LCI BMW M550i (also installed in the M850i etc.). With the recent facelift of the 5 Series, the performance model below the M5 F90 is moving into focus for many. While the M5 is a brilliant car, for the majority the M550i could be the more interesting choice. And if you chip the N63, it is even more interesting. And the guys at Race Chip did just that.

The M550i delivers 533 hp and 770 Nm of torque from the video ex works, and after tuning it is even 593 hp and 874 Nm of torque. In terms of torque, that's even a significant surcharge compared to the M5! And RaceChip has also tried out what the increase in performance brings on the road. You notice the biggest difference from 100 to 200 km / h. According to the measurements, the RaceChip M550i is 1,28 seconds faster because it sprints from 7,6 to 100 in just 200 seconds.

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
