DTE Systems not only produces chip tunings - of course DTE also tests them. In the first major internal comparison test, the tuners send the M2 CS against the M2 Competition with PowerControl on the slopes. The chip tuners put both vehicles through their paces on MAHA's in-house test bench. On site in Recklinghausen, the DTE engineering team meticulously determined the performance and the expected acceleration in several test runs. Overall, the BMW M2 CS brought an impressive performance of 485 hp and 558 NM. The M2 Competition already showed itself without tuning with 411 hp and 546 Nm. After installing PowerControl, it has a sporty 472 hp and 621 Nm under the hood. The tuned M1,5 Competition should now be almost 2 seconds faster (according to the elasticity measurement from 100 - 200 km/h).
Testing the BMW M2 Competition
Tests were carried out in the early hours of the morning at the Stadtlohn-Vreden airfield. The sports giant CS faced the challenger on the test track. The measurement using a dragy box should determine the time of 100 - 200 km/h and thus the winner. With 9,16 seconds, the M2 CS set a remarkable time. Despite the slower launch, the DTE-M2 overtook the M7,97 CS in an impressive 2 seconds and was the clear winner of the drag race. 1,19 seconds difference that is impressive.
