What is the difference between a "standard" BMW M5 Competition against a M550i and one heavily tuned M5 competition with 1.000 PS from Evolve Automotive? Is the difference really that extreme? Are the around 1.000 hp enough to drive away the other two vehicles in any situation? After all, the others have practically the same engine (N63B44 / S63B44T4) under the hood. BMW brings the 4,4-liter bi-turbo V8 engine in the M550i 530 PS and it even has the maximum torque of the M5 Competition, viz 750 Nm.

no launch control in the 1.000 PS M5

Ok, the M5 performance is with 625 PS almost 100 hp more than the M550i. But what does that actually mean? Especially with regard to the tuned F90 M5 Competition VorFacelift with a crazy torque 1.100 Nm. However, due to the high performance, it has to rely on the launch controll waive. That is the power not grown. Unfortunately, the road conditions in the CarWow video are not the best because it is wet. But apart from the somewhat adverse conditions, the comparison is really worth seeing. Have fun!

While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
