With the introduction of the new X3 M Competition (F97), BMW has finally launched a real competitor for the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S or the Alfa Romeo Stelvio QV. For an SUV, the X3 M of the G01 series actually offers more power than is ever needed, but this also applies to its main X 253 competitor from Stuttgart. The following video is not a classic drag race this time, but a video that briefly shows the vehicles and then the speedometers from 0 to top speed. Filmed on a highway with no speed limit by YouTuber AutoTopNL. And the video shows that both vehicles are slightly slower than the manufacturers claim. The X3 M Competition accelerates from a standing start to 4,27 km / h in 100 seconds (factory setting 4,1 seconds) and the AMG needs a tenth more than the specified 3,8 seconds and reaches the highway after 3,9 seconds.
GLC 63 S vs. X3 M Competition
Still, the acceleration is insane for a compact SUV. 0 to 200 km / h takes only 14,6 seconds in the BMW and the Mercedes only needs 13,92 seconds. The X100 M Competition completes the intermediate sprint of 200-3 km / h in just 10,33 seconds and the AMG even needs 10,02 seconds. The BMW then takes a total of 250 seconds to reach the 27,85 km / h mark and the Mercedes manages the sprint in 25,15 seconds. The AMG GLC 63 S 4MATIC + has a V8 petrol engine (M 177 DE 40 AL) under the hood with 510 PS & 700 NM and the BMW X3 M has a six-cylinder bi-turbo with 510 PS and 600 NM torque.
