Bugatti presented the Centodieci - Italian for 110 - in 2019 at the Monterey Car Week in California at "The Quail" on the occasion of the company's 110th birthday. The Centodieci, inspired by the legendary Bugatti EB110 from 1991, is powered by the iconic 8,0-liter W16 engine with 1.600 hp and only ten units are produced by hand in the Bugatti studio in Molsheim. Delivery to customers is planned for next year. All ten Centodieci had already been sold to customers before their presentation.

The Concours d'Elegance for automobiles was first held at the Villa d'Este in 1929, and Bugatti has been participating in this exclusive event for years. The most recent highlights include La Voiture Noire, which won the “Concept Cars and Prototypes” category in 2019. In addition, models from Bugatti's glorious past, such as the 1937 Type 57S Sports Tourer with four seats, the 1934 Type 59 Grand Prix and the 1938 Type 57SC Atlantic, have won over the jury in recent years and won awards.

The historic super sports car - a blue (originally with a silver finish in "Grigio Chiaro metallizzato") EB110 SuperSport - was presented at the Villa d'Este in the category "The next generation: Hypercars of the 90s" and was formerly owned by Romano Artioli . The Italian entrepreneur, who brought Bugatti Automobili SpA back to life in 1987, fondly thinks back to the development of this super sports car: “When we first presented the EB1991 in Paris in 110, the engineers in Campogalliano urged that we should come back immediately because it was absolutely necessary wanted to continue working on the Supersport version of the EB110. Everyone was focused on reducing weight and increasing performance while at the same time keeping my main concern in mind, namely maintaining the safety features of the vehicle. "

The result was an astonishing weight reduction of almost 150 kilograms and an increase in power from 560 hp to 612 hp, with the drive being developed entirely in Campogalliano. Immediately after the EB110 SuperSport was presented at the Geneva Motor Show, the team brought the vehicle to the Nardò test track in southern Italy for approval tests. "After a warm-up lap, we set a world record with a speed of 351 km / h and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km in 3,2 seconds," Artioli remembers proudly. Later, the vehicle was also able to set a speed record on snow and ice with 296 km / h, while a Bugatti EB110 GT with natural gas drive reached a top speed of 344,7 km / h. “I have this supercar in my heart forever. No other vehicle can convey this feeling of power, control and safety in all road conditions like the EB110 - and with incomparable style. I am very proud that this masterpiece can be seen at the Concours d'Elegance in Villa D'Este, ”says Romano Artioli.
