Built to drive: "La Voiture Noire" at the Supercar Owners Circle Croatia Croatia

Bugatti aims to build the best automobiles in the world. Timelessly beautiful, luxurious and incomparably fast - but always designed to be fun to drive and for their owners to enjoy. At the Supercar Owners Circle in Croatia (SOC) from September 2nd to 5th, they proved to enthusiasts that Bugatti hyper sports cars are predestined for routes over 1.000 kilometers long and that driving them is also a lot of fun. This time there: the unique "La Voiture Noire". This one-off piece of automotive haute couture is proof of Bugatti's masterful craftsmanship, engineering and design. This extraordinary vehicle was created as a tribute to the famous, lost Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic known as "La Voiture Noire".

"La Voiture Noire"

Every single cell of the 3D printed front grille has been precisely ground. There are more than 25 individually milled light elements per side in the headlights, while the rear is dominated by an elegant rear light design and has no joints. The six exhaust pipes are a nod to the Atlantic. The newly developed parametric design at the front and rear makes the body appear self-contained.

Although "La Voiture Noire" is a one-off, it has had to undergo the same durability, quality and safety tests as any other Bugatti. In this way, Bugatti ensures that the vehicles can be driven by their owners under all conditions and up to the optimum of their performance - as in the four-day tour of the Supercar Owners Circle, the largest collection of super sports cars in automotive history.

Other rare Bugatti hyper sports cars joined La Voiture Noire in Croatia: the first Centodieci, Divo, Chiron Super Sport 300+, Chiron Super Sport, Chiron L'Ébe, Chiron Pur Sport, Chiron Sport and four Chiron. A Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition drove along from the Veyron era. The SOC event started with a ride near Zagreb. Along the winding roads we headed into the mountains – the natural habitat of Divo and Chiron Pur Sport, which were specially developed for downforce and agility.

under police escort to the city center

From the mountainous region of Sljeme, the convoy drove under police escort to the center of Zagreb, where the vehicles were on public display in front of the cathedral. Thousands of interested people took the opportunity to admire the extraordinary features of the Chiron L'Ébe and the Centodieci in live, which was developed as a homage to the legendary Bugatti EB110. Normally it is a rarity to see even a single Bugatti on the road - it is even rarer to experience so many automobiles from the Molsheim workshop gathered in one place.

On Saturday morning, the SOC convoy set out for ZTC Velika Gorica to show off their skills on the airport's cordoned-off runway. The audience could experience the full force of Bugatti's legendary 8,0 liter W16 engine, which is used in all newer models such as the Chiron Super Sport 300+ and Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition. In the afternoon, the guests made their way to the Adriatic coast town of Sibenik, along a route of almost 400 kilometers. They then explored the coastal roads, drove to the island of Pag and took the ferry back to the mainland, then returned to Sibenik via the Magistrala road for the conclusion of the tour.

every automobile should be driven

Mate Rimac, CEO of Bugatti Rimac, was enthusiastic: “It is a great honor for me to welcome the Supercar Owners Circle to my home country for the second year in a row. Our customers showed how much they care about the Bugatti brand by sharing their extraordinarily rare vehicles with the delighted Croatian audience. This is entirely in the spirit of Ettore Bugatti, for whom every car that leaves our workshop - even if it is absolutely unique - can and should be driven and that is able to cover long distances of more than 1.000 kilometers in comfort - be it to reach record speeds on a closed circuit or to negotiate winding mountain roads.”
