It is probably one of the absolute classics in the area of relatively affordable sports models and certainly one of the most tuned and individualized vehicles: the VW Golf GTI. The first generation was a real revolution in the 1970s. And although the Hot Hatch went through a difficult time in which he had lost his character, he finally found it again and emerged stronger than ever from this identity crisis since the introduction of the fifth generation. In addition to the standard GTI, there is now an even sharper clubsport version. A copy of this has now been refined by the specialists at JMS Fahrzeugteile. The highlight of the compact athlete are undoubtedly the chic Dragoon alloy wheels from the Barracuda Racing Wheels range.
Barracuda Dragoon alloy wheels
The wheels, manufactured using the flow forming process and with a dynamically twisted design, are used in a lush 8,5 × 20 inch format. The tires measure 235 / 30R20. With regard to the finish, there is a real specialty: Before the subsequent silver painting, the wheel is pre-painted in black. This creates an extraordinary degree of gloss and a minimal black touch. As a further eye-catcher, the wheels in this case - to match the corresponding typical design accents of the GTI - are combined with rim caps in red. They are screwed to the axles with the registration-free Barracuda Racing Bolts in black. These screws are available in different colors and for virtually all rim applications. Even individual productions with a desired shaft length are possible. The racing bolts are also available as wheel nuts.
KW Variant 3 coilover suspension
To round things off, JMS Fahrzeugteile naturally lowered the Clubsport VW: A KW Variant 3 coilover kit lowers the Golf by 40 millimeters at the front and 35 millimeters at the rear. Last but not least, the new, gray-black taillights functioned as an additional visual eye-catcher, while the strikingly drawn aprons and the large roof spoiler in this form are standard equipment in the GTI Clubsport. Although not installed at this point, JMS Fahrzeugteile also offers various other components for the Golf GTI if required: For example, exhaust systems, performance enhancements, spoiler kits and much more are available.
