The Bentley Batur is not only a foretaste of the British carmaker's future design line, but also marks a crucial advance in the manufacturing methodology that Bentley is pursuing - one that favors environmentally responsible materials and techniques and aligns itself with sustainable luxury. Groundbreaking techniques are fused with rich materials to create unique design elements not found in any previous Bentley model. Bentley's Color, Material Selection and Finishing Department took aerospace inspiration to create these distinctive features, using appropriate materials and textures to convey the feel of an adventurous journey of discovery. The option to choose bespoke colours, materials and finishes is of paramount importance to Mulliner customers. The Batur emphasizes Bentley's expertise in using unique color and material combinations. However, despite its remarkable strength and light weight, carbon is not environmentally friendly.
Batur Specifications by Mulliner
High-performance flax fiber composites, a sustainable "super fiber", provide an environmentally friendly alternative to carbon. This remarkably strong yet incredibly light material can be used throughout the Batur, from the exterior body components to the interior surfaces. When leather is used, it is sustainably produced using less water and aldehydes than traditional tanning. A choice of traceable, low-carbon leather is also offered – a material previously only available on extremely limited bespoke bodywork projects.
Sustainable, leather-like fabrics made from coffee roasting by-products and rugs made from recycled yarn are also provided. The Batur offers a variety of novel finishing options. Options such as 18k stamped yellow gold made through additive manufacturing, aerospace-inspired titanium, or the aforementioned composite materials and textiles add to the already extensive range of leather, wood, and other trim options.
The only limit is your own creativity!
To inspire its customers, Bentley has put together a selection of design options that demonstrate what is possible at this level of customization. A striking specification that hints at the car's high performance with striking contrasts between black and vivid green tones both outside and inside. The wasabi finish draws the viewer in and inevitably draws attention to the spectacular exterior. A closer look reveals the elegant finish of the natural fiber body kit in glossy black (Gloss Black Crystal), which gives the vehicle profile a reflective, deep black touch.
The interior is not dominated by green, but by a breathtaking black that extends across the laser-engraved dashboard in a fascinating gradient from deep gloss to iridescent carbon. This heavenly design features a 'glowing' Sunbeam colorway coupled with a truly spectacular interior design. The body kit features Atlantic Pearl Crystal details that provide an exceptional contrast to the vehicle.
Laser engraved dashboard
Inside, the upholstery shines in a dynamic color combination of Indigo Night, Beluga, Ceramic Glaze and Hyperactive, making Supernova the only design option with a four-tone interior. The laser-engraved dashboard, with its impressive gradient from gloss black to gloss natural fiber, as well as a comprehensive titanium package with precisely crafted details throughout the interior complete the package. This design exudes a sense of speed even at rest.
The deep, metallic Daybright Blue of the exterior with select accents of Red on the grille, body kit and brake calipers is sporty-inspired and hints at the impressive performance beneath the gleaming bonnet. Inside, the dark leather, trim and fabric are accented with vibrant Pillar Box Red stripes, as well as the 18k gold Bentley Dynamic Drive Selector and 12 o'clock marker on the steering wheel.
Finished in Fine Brodgar & Black Crystal
The dark silver tone of the two-tone Fine Brodgar and Black Crystal paintwork blends seamlessly with the titanium details of the tailpipes in this elegant design. On closer inspection, however, you can see a hint of Cyber Yellow, which sets accents on the lower body kit and the lower end of the spoiler. The interior is lined with rich Burnt Oak leather and surrounded by stunning trim of smooth, lustrous graphene. Furthermore, the restrained interior is characterized by a gorgeous play of black anodized aluminum and accents in Beluga Black.
In 1919, WO Bentley made the first car to bear his name. His creations were immediately popular - but he was first and foremost an engineer. He designed engines, which he integrated into a chassis with wheels and gears. These constructions could certainly be called cars. But transforming them into luxurious touring cars, sleek racing cars or a combination of both required the expertise of a coachbuilder.
