Bentley Bentayga S: more sportiness for the luxury SUV!

Bentley today announced details of the new Bentayga S, which complements the Bentayga model family with additional sporty agility. Eye-catching design elements and unique details: the Bentayga S is the latest version of Bentley's all-terrain luxury SUV that sets standards. It is designed and engineered in the UK. Manufacturing takes place in Bentley's CO2-neutral factory in Crewe. For the first time since the Bentayga was launched in 2015, an “S” version is now available - at the request of numerous customers who enjoy the dynamic performance of their Bentayga on the road. Based on Bentley's established “S” variant, the new, sporty Bentayga offers an even more thrilling driving experience.

The active roll stabilization Bentley Dynamic Ride and an optimized sports suspension mode are included as standard. Shock absorption increased by 15 percent keeps the chassis more stable and thus provides the basis for more dynamic SPORT operation of the electronic stability control. With the addition of striking black details, the Bentayga S also has a revised visual presence - underlined by a sportier engine sound made possible by a newly developed, flow-optimized sports exhaust. Both reinforce the already charismatic street presence of the Bentayga.

The Bentayga S stands out from other models with a number of striking exterior details, including new, unique 22-inch wheels, which are available in three versions, innovative "S" emblems on the lower edge of the front doors and the Blackline specification as standard equipment. The profile view is underlined by the larger rear spoiler, side skirts and lower bumpers on the front and rear in high-gloss black. Dark-tinted headlights and tail lights, black exterior mirrors and black oval twin tailpipes round off the fascinating exterior.

The luxuriously finished interior has a unique Bentayga S look, which reflects the breathtaking exterior and increased dynamic performance: new seats, exclusive stitching and a new color combination with Alcantara®. Color accents on the dashboard, center console, door panels and seat cushions as well as Alcantara® on the seat surfaces, backrests, steering wheel and gear lever give the Bentayga S a bold, modern, stylish look. As a reference to the model, “S” emblems can be found on the passenger side of the dashboard and in a new graphic design on the dashboard and on the illuminated door sill trims.

Bentley's market-leading SUV, which defines an entire vehicle class, can be configured as a four-, five- or seven-seater. Since its market launch in 2016, more than 25.000 customers have received their Bentayga. The fourth model in the Bentayga model family complements the efficient plug-in hybrid, the 4,0-liter V8 with twin turbocharging and the powerful Speed ​​with a 6,0-liter twelve-cylinder engine.

Power and performance in perfection

The Bentayga S is equipped with Bentley's famous, double-turbocharged 4,0 liter twin-scroll V8 petrol engine, which combines enormous power with impressive fuel efficiency. The latest generation engine offers 550 hp and a torque of 770 Nm. The vehicle accelerates from 4,5 to 0 km / h in 100 seconds and reaches a top speed of 290 km / h. The leading performance in this vehicle class is complemented by a range of 654 km without refueling with CO2 emissions of 294 g / km.

The Bentley Dynamic Ride system included as standard is the world's first active electrical roll stabilization with a unique 48-volt system. This system counteracts the body leaning forces when cornering within 0,3 seconds with a torque of 1.300 Nm. This ensures maximum tire contact with the road and ensures vehicle stability, a high level of driving comfort and exceptional handling that are unmatched in this class.

Similar to the recently introduced Continental GT Speed, in which the contrast between grand touring comfort and thrilling performance has been largely eliminated by a selectable "chassis mode", the Bentayga S now offers increased performance compared to the standard model through an optimized SPORT Business.

The SPORT mode enables an optimized steering feel, more direct cornering behavior and a further reduction in rolling movements through an additional tightening of the air suspension by 15 percent, supplemented by a unique electronic stability control and a special Bentley Dynamic Ride setting.

The recalibration of Bentley's Torque Vectoring by Brake system - in which the inner rear wheel is braked slightly when entering a curve in order to increase the steering of the front axle - gives the Bentayga S even more direct handling.

A new sports exhaust is included as standard, which improves the flow with flow-optimized main and secondary pipes. In connection with a reduced perforation of the silencer, which provides more character and volume, it gives the vehicle a more performance-oriented impression.

The extensive off-road capabilities of the Bentayga are retained, with the optional all-terrain specification four special off-road modes ("Snow and Wet Grass", "Dirt and Gravel", "Mud and Trail" and "Sand") and a fording depth of 500 mm offers.

Bentayga S - true street presence

The youthful, athletic exterior design of the new Bentayga S reflects a truly dynamic driving experience. Equally stylish and charismatic: the sporty nature of the Bentayga S is clearly recognizable from every angle and is underpinned by a number of new elements that fundamentally change the character of the vehicle inside and out.

The already fascinating street presence of the Bentayga is given the finishing touches in the "S" variant by darkened body trim strips as well as matching black exterior mirrors and black painted side skirts. These equipment features are rounded off by a dark tint of the headlights and the elliptical tail lights as well as grille inserts in the lower bumpers in a new high-gloss black. A large rear spoiler on the Bentayga S, which not only visually extends the roof line in profile, but also optimizes aerodynamic stability at high speed, is complemented by black, oval sport twin tailpipes and exclusive exterior emblems.

The new, uniquely spectacular 22-inch wheel design is mirrored along the center line of the vehicle so that the spokes (in sickle look) are aligned in the same way on both sides of the vehicle. The wheel, which is available in three surface finishes, is painted in silver as standard, but is also available as an optional extra in high-gloss black or in black with polished accents. The manufacture of the wheel with high-gloss accents is very labor-intensive - first the rim is ceramic-polished before the glossy areas are masked so that the wheel can be painted in high-gloss black. Finally, the wheel is polished again - by hand.

A unique interior - luxuriously equipped

For the color combination in the interior of the Bentayga S powered by a V8 engine, Alcantara® is used, which is used on the seats, the backrests, the gear lever, the steering wheel, the upper trim and the headliner. This creates a performance-oriented yet luxurious interior.

A new longitudinally quilted seat design is available in a four-, five- or seven-seater configuration. The introduction of a new, unique and modern seat design gives the vehicle a sporty aesthetic with clear stitching lines over the shoulder areas. The new quilting pattern defines the longitudinal seams and is available to match the primary or secondary color. In combination with the Alcantara® elements, a completely new look is created. The backrests are given their final touch with an embroidered "S" motif.

An exclusive, elegant emblem adorns the dashboard in the passenger area. The door sill trims show a similar, classy Bentayga S theme that lights up when the vehicle doors are opened.

The Bentayga S is equipped with the same fully digital information and warning light field as the Bentayga Speed, which is characterized by distinctive display graphics inspired by luxurious chronographs. The display gives the cockpit a contemporary look, can be adapted to the needs of the driver and impresses with elegantly animated real-time lighting effects.

The high-resolution screen can be viewed in classic or extended format. In the classic format, the screen shows the traditional design with two displays for speed and RPM. In the expanded format, a navigation and media information area is displayed instead of the right clock face.
