As every year, Hyundai was again represented at SEMA in 2017. There was an Elantra, the Ioniq and a Santa Fe from the Korean manufacturer. We have chosen the most eye-catching concept car in the form of the bright orange “BTR Edition Elantra Sport Concept” and have compiled all the important facts for you. For established car manufacturers, the Sema has always been a good opportunity, apart from series production, to show that things can also be young, fresh and creative. The "BTR Edition Elantra Sport Concept" is based on the Hyundai Elantra sedan, which is not offered in Europe.
Agressiv is Elantra the Aerotek front with huge, black painted radiator grille as well as a deep seated front splitter. There were matching approaches for the side skirts and a relatively discreetly modified rear apron. The highlight is sitting on the boot lid. A monumental APR GTC 200 GT rear spoiler whose TÜV blessing in Germany would probably be difficult to achieve. He has so nothing to do with any serial components and stands out tremendously. Significantly more discreet are the spiked fender flares around the 19 inch large alloy wheels in ten-spoke design under them carry.
With a sports suspension from HSD, the wheel set sits perfectly in the wheel arch and of course the body also sinks towards the road. And more power was needed. The boys of Blood Type Racing gave the engine significantly more power via chip tuning and even enabled - even if only for a short time - with nitrous oxide injection from Devil's Own even another performance increase. There was also a new air filter, an exhaust system from Pierce Motorsports and a much more lush brake system with painted brake calipers.
And inside, too, the concept is sportier than the series. There is sport upholstery with chic seams, a carbon steering wheel or modern LED lighting.
