Jacky Ickx is also known beyond the Porsche world as one of the best racing drivers of all time. But he is a true icon for the sworn community of engineers and racing drivers who have worked with him in Weissach for almost ten years. To celebrate the 75th birthday of the Belgian legend and to honor its invaluable contribution to Porsche's racing success in the 70s and 80s, Porsche is now launching a special edition of the 911 in honor of Ickx. The Belgian Porsche importer “D'Ieteren” came up with the idea. With the first special edition of the 992, the experts at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur have created a unique tribute to one of the most talented drivers in the history of racing. Jacky Ickx himself, experts from Style Porsche and the Belgian Porsche importer D'Ieteren, were also involved in the design of the new Legend Edition.

The design should reflect Ickx's trademark, the blue and white helmet. The 911 Carrera 4S was therefore painted in a unique “X Blue”; This makes it the first 992 in the coveted “Paint To Sample” color from Porsche. A badge with the Belgian flag and Jacky Ickx's signature on the driver's B-pillar indicates the six-time Le Mans winner. The special blue is also used for the 20/21 inch Carrera Classic rims. Combined with subtle white accents, they also reflect the design of Ickx 'racing helmet, which is traditionally provided with a narrow white stripe around the visor. An elaborate laser engraving by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur was required for this detail. The interior is finished in black leather with cross-stitching in pebble gray on the dashboard as well as the door and rear paneling, which were all meticulously handcrafted.

The "X" shape of the decorative stitching was chosen as a further subtle reference to the man of the hour. Other individual interiors include pebble-gray piping on the 18-way sports seats and the lettering "911" on the headrests, which are not available for the standard Carrera 4S models. The rear seats are also made of leather - another unique detail of the new Legend Edition. The car has other special design elements, including a leather armrest with an embossed Ickx autograph and the “Belgian Legend Edition” inscription on the chrome door sills. The experts spared no effort and even incorporated the signature of the six-time Le Mans winner into the color-coordinated key ring. The Belgian Legend Edition is strictly limited to 75 vehicles (one for every year of Ickx's life) and will only be available in Belgium.
