BMW 330is G20 Sport-Edition - special model for South Africa.

BMW has a very long tradition in South Africa. As early as 1929, a private individual imported the first BMW motorcycle to South Africa, and in 1952 the first car of the brand with the white and blue propeller finally drove on the streets of South Africa. It was a BMW 501, which was also introduced by a wealthy private individual. In 1975 BMW South Africa (Pty) Ltd. founded, whereby the first BMW plant outside of Europe was located in South Africa. Even today, vehicles of the X3 series are manufactured at the Rosslyn plant, near the capital Pretoria, after models of the 3, 5 and 7 series left the plant for decades. Of course, thanks to its local production in South Africa, BMW is a very popular brand and has a market share of over 7 percent. This means that it is higher on the Cape of Good Hope than in any other country, except Germany. Unfortunately, we do not know whether there is a large tuning scene for BMW models in South Africa.

M Performance Parts for a sporty look.

The special model, limited to 230 units, comes with a sports package that includes 20-inch models from M-Performance-GmbH, which give the 3 series a particularly sporty look. In addition, the limited special edition comes with an M aerodynamic package, which includes a front splitter, side skirts in body color, a special exhaust and a rear spoiler. Four-piston brake calipers on the front axle and floating single-piston brake calipers at the rear, which are painted in blue, ensure deceleration values in keeping with their standing, and adaptive suspension, which can be adapted to all road conditions, is also part of the standard equipment. In addition to the adaptive suspension, the driver also has the Driving Experience Control available, which means that the 330is can spring from comfortable to sporty, depending on how you feel. With this function, the spring and damper hardness can be variably adjusted. In order not only to trim the chassis for sport, BMW also donated the special edition a variable sport steering, which should ensure a more direct and agile steering response.

The interior is also kept very sporty.

In the interior, door sills with 330is insignia for front passenger and driver as well as the leather called Vernasca Black with decorative stitching, which are available in different colors, were installed. Special M seat belts, an M leather steering wheel, interior lighting, an anthracite-colored headliner, a sliding glass roof and a Harman Kardon surround sound system round off the package. In this way, the 330is also demonstrates its newly gained sportiness in the interior, which it displays through its optics and technology.

A turbo four-cylinder serves as the engine.

It is powered by a 2-liter turbo gasoline engine with four cylinders that generates 258 hp. Equipped in this way, the special model sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in just 5,8 seconds, and the top speed is a regulated 250 kilometers per hour. This means that BMW fans at the Cape of Good Hope can also press the tube properly, provided they get hold of one of the 230 copies that are being manufactured.

Special edition is available in four colors.

If you are now wondering in which colors the 330is is available, we can tell you that four different paint finishes can be ordered. Gletschersilber, Melbourne Red, Alpinweiß and Black Sapphire are the names of the lacquers that are available for the edition. It is true that in Germany and Europe you will not be able to enjoy ever seeing a G330 generation 20is, but we have a large picture gallery for you in which you can marvel at the special edition. If we get more information about the changes compared to the "normal 3 Series", there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply do ours Feed subscribe to.
