While Mercedes has left the DTM at the end of last year, the competition from BMW is giving a powerful boost. Just been announced that the 19-year-old Sheldon van der Linde will join the Munich team and thus celebrate its DTM premiere. And new rules are already firmly anchored for 2019. There will be around 100 HP more powerful turbo engines, fewer aerodynamic components and, at 981 kg, a significantly reduced vehicle weight. Aston Martin also joins the DTM, which is supported by the Swiss racing team R-Motorsport & HWA. And BMW will start again with the M4 DTM. But how could a variant based on the new G20 3 Series from BMW look like? That’s what the graphic designer did Emre Husman Thought and presents a virtual vehicle with DTM bonds based on the new generation of the 3er BMW.

The virtual presentation vehicle shows up with the optional M Sport package and, in addition, was given a massive miss when it comes to huge fender flares. There are aerodynamic components for the front apron in the form of spoilers, canards and also the eye-catching side skirts with sill swords have an aerodynamic function. At the rear of the widebody G20 shows with an integrated spoiler lip, a large roof spoiler and an extremely aggressive rear diffuser. And here it is especially the widening that make the difference to the series. If the virtual racer were to miss a large DTM rear wing, a radical racing car would have been created for the track.

The big alloy wheels in combination with the huge brake system are finally suitable for this purpose. Other changes include an M-typical sports exhaust system with four round tailpipes, there are completely darkened windows and any chrome is removed. A glimpse into the glass ball under the bonnet with air intakes could reveal the brand new two-liter turbocharged engine recently celebrated its premiere at the BMW plant Dingolfing. We would much rather have a V8 BiTurbo! But the times of one Audi V8 quattro DTM are long gone. Unfortunately ... we should get timely information about the first real Obtained widebody G20 of course there is an update. You will be informed if yours is just ours Feed subscribe to.
