At the height of the van wave, more precisely in 2008, BMW presented its interpretation of a space-functional concept (RFK). They did not want to put a conventional minivan on the streets, because that did not match BMW's sporting standards at the time, which is why they agreed on a crossover version of the five, which should combine the comfort and space of a van with the sporty driving characteristics of a sedan. The 5 Series GT was born, and in 2009, a year after its presentation, the model went on sale and was sold with rather moderate success until 2017. The successor model was the 6 Series GT, which partially removed the chubby rear end and got a more elegant rear end.

Green "turtle" causes a stir!

The repositioning as a 6 Series GT also enabled BMW to raise prices for the model. But now we are introducing you to a modified five-GT, which is based in China and has been extremely professionally refined by a tuner. The vehicle, which was originally painted white, received a emerald green foilingwhich gave it the nickname "Turtle".

The color scheme, which, depending on the incidence of light, ranges from dark green to gray to delicate purple, is particularly impressive from our point of view. In addition, the extraordinary BMW got one Widebody opticswhich results from the fact that the wheel arches “made of metal” were clearly exhibited and the wheel arches were drawn. Everything is seamlessly integrated into the body. The classic Multi-spoke rimswhich are somewhat reminiscent of a mixture of Alpina and Hamann bikes come from the Taiwanese company Ravize, and look great on the five-car GT from our point of view. the front apron, the look of which is based on that of the 1 Series M Coupé, comes from M-Tech, and gives the Bavarian crossover a sporty touch. Then there is the eye-catching one rear wing, which comes from Renzhi and looks like he wants to transform the 5 Series GT into an oversized touring car.

An Four pipe exhaust system of unknown origin was also installed on the GT in order to reinforce the extremely dynamic impression on the standard somewhat chubby rear part, and to make the rear appear slimmer and sportier. However, it is very unusual that the ground clearance has obviously not been changed, and there are neither lowering springs nor a threaded or Airride suspension.

Interior without modifications

We assume that the interior has remained unchanged as we have not discovered any information or images regarding a modified interior.

Four-, six- and eight-cylinder petrol engines

The versions 528i, 535i and 550i were available on the Chinese market, of which the two more powerful variants could also be ordered with the all-wheel drive called xDrive. Thus there was a performance margin between 245 and 407 hp covered, which should satisfy most motorists. The power transmission always took place via an automatic transmission. Unfortunately, we can only speculate which engine is doing its job in the example we have presented, but the engine output should definitely be sufficient, even if tuning measures were only carried out on the body and not on the engine.
