Slammed BMW 520i (E28) in emerald green with BBS rims!

Vehicles of the second generation of the five-series (E28) from BMW, which carries the factory code E28, are becoming increasingly rare and as a result their value increases if they have been well preserved and cared for. And occasionally you will also find modified models of the classic sports sedan, which has been the epitome of the dynamic luxury vehicle for almost fifty years. Today we would like to introduce you to a copy from Great Britain, which from its tuner Liam Ainsworth was modified discreetly and reservedly.

Emerald classic!

Not just today greens very popular again for new cars, but the color scheme was all the rage back in the 1970s. So the first owner of this car decided to order it in emerald green to follow the fashion of the time. But let's get to the tuning of the car, which in our opinion looks so exceptionally aesthetic that it deserves a place in an automobile museum.

Tuner Liam Ainsworth chose two-piece for his Bavarian darling BBS wheels in 17-inch format (9×17) with a classic honeycomb structure, Central locking, silver finish and polished beds. A very special highlight of the rims are the golden BBS lettering, which gives the wheels that certain something. Of course, with such a tuning piece of jewellery, one is also allowed Airride chassis not missing, which is why Liam Ainsworth installed a BAGS air suspension from Only Charged Dubs, which uses a AccuAir-Control is individually adjustable from the cockpit.

The interior is very contemporary!

The BMW got new ones seat covers, which are kept in the original shade of green. Furthermore, a modern Blaupunkt SQR 46 digital radio found its way into the old Dingolfing. The tank for the air suspension is also located in the trunk of the car. On the whole, however, the charm of the 70s has been retained, and we think that's a good thing.

A 2-liter R6 naturally aspirated petrol engine drives the E28 !

This is a BMW 520i powered by a straight-six petrol engine (M20B20) that does not require supercharging. The unit delivers 129 hp and around 170 Newton meters. It is sufficiently motorized for an oldie and already cracks the 200 km/h mark. In this vehicle, power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a manual five-speed gearbox.

Our conclusion:

  • A dream for all BMW fans, which will hopefully be cherished and cared for by loving hands. We give it a thumbs up for that.
