It is the official little brother of the 462 PS - M550i xDrive and actually quite a long way from the brand new F90 M5 with a full 600 PS. The BMW 540i / 540i xDrive with 340 PS & 450 NM - B58B30 BiTurbo in-line six-cylinder. And for exactly that, the DTE team now has a performance upgrade ready that lets him catch up a little on the big brothers. With an increase in performance of 57 PS & 80 NM torque, it comes to the level of a former E39 M5 and this was known to be the spearhead of the 5 series from 1998-2003. The engine is also used in other BMW models and the power plus is also available for these vehicles.
The PowerControl X tuning box with smartphone control is responsible for the additional service. It is connected to the central sensors of the engine management and gives the Munich the extra on 397 PS & 530 NM.
