For the first time ever a Buchloe vehicle based on the X4 is available (the F26 X4 was not rebuilt by Alpina) and somehow he might be the one beautiful brother of the XD3 (G01). After all, the basis is identical and the only difference between the XD4 is its coupé-like silhouette. Equipped with the three-liter in-line six cylinder of the XD3, the X4 also comes with powerful 388 PS & 770 NM torque. Since the curb weight of 2.045 kg is also identical to that of the XD3, it is not surprising that the 4 Series also needs about 100 seconds for the sprint to 4,6 km / h.
Only at TopSpeed he surpasses the XD3 by 1 km / h and can claim the left lane with 268 km / h. This is probably due to the slightly improved cw value of the X4 silhouette. Currently, the Alpina XD4 is on a par with the Bentley Bentayga diesel which runs only marginally faster 270 km / h. Of course, the gear changes in the XD4 also take over the eight-speed sports automatic transmission with switch-tronic function from Alpina and of course the XD4 also has the familiar xDrive four-wheel drive. For a sportier pace compared to the series ensures that adapted from Alpina sports suspension with electronically adjustable dampers in combination with the rear differential lock (ex works) lets the XD4 fly much more dynamic around the corner.
Visually, the XD4 is typical alpina and convinces with the classic alloy wheels with filigree spokes in the dimensions 20 inch including 255 / 45 and 285 / 40 tires elegantly fill the wheel arches. If that is not enough, you can optionally use 22 Zöller with 255 / 35 and 295 / 30 slippers. If you look closely you can see through the spokes also a modified brake system and installed here Alpina a Brembo system with four-piston fixed calipers and 395er front discs and Faustsätteln and 370er discs rear. The brake calipers are painted in blue and there is even an Alpina logo on the front. Whoever does not want to avoid the racetrack with the XD4 can optionally order a high-performance brake system that comes directly from the B5 Bi-Turbo.
The features here are perforated 395 mm lightweight composite front brake discs and 398 mm rear discs with high-performance brake pads. And of course, the typical changes to the body can not be missing and so has the XD4 received the brand-typical front spoiler and the rear of a rear apron with diffuser insert and a discreet rear spoiler. Of course you can also order the Alpina sticker on the flanks. There are also changes in the interior because Alpina subtly enhances the interior with leather, new door sills and piano lacquer applications.
