WOW! BMW E38 740i Restomod with S62 M5 engine

Are you already talking about a restomod? Hard to believe but - YES! After all, the third generation of the BMW 7 series came on the market as early as 1994. That's an unbelievable 25 years and that makes the E38 definitely one Young timer! Another five years and we are officially speaking of one Oldtimer, And if you miss the E38 the much more modern LCI technology of E60 2007 it is just a Restomod. This 7er got the 10's 5-sized CIC infotainment system (E63 6er, F01 7er, etc.) including an elegantly built iDrive controller, the E39 M5 sports steering wheel, and the M5 facelift tachometer. And that has it's reason!

The 4,4 V8 of the E38 flew out and was replaced by a completely overhauled S62 M5 engine from the M5 with standard 400 PS. But not only that! There were also the manual 6-Gang-Handschaltung with shortshifter, the diff of the M5 on the rear axle, a few parts from the 750i-V12 and beyond an ESS compressor system very similar this E38. This increases the output to exactly 560 hp and the much larger 750i-V12 is no longer a competitor. Incidentally, the E38 is now braked using the Brembo GT BBK brake system with large slotted brake discs. And all of this is paired with a super elegant restraint. The alpine white body only got a few accents in black and a subtle lowering by means of a chassis from Bilstein including H&R springs.

The rest is optically almost standard and does not reveal the extensive modifications in the beginning. In the video, the 7 Series is even on original BMW rims, making it even more inconspicuous. And the interior is also in top condition. The leather has been reworked and given a "caramel finish". To what extent this is durable in the long run will of course be seen. But there have been providers of such sprays for a long time and the response on the Internet has been quite positive. Incidentally, there is a complete renovation in progress bimmerforum documented. So if you want to know every last detail of the conversion, it looks best in the relevant "13 pages" long post by RVAE34 (link below). Have fun looking at the pictures and videos and stay true to us!
