Crazy BMW E46 M3 with Corvette-LS3 V8 engine!

The idea of stuffing a V8 into the popular BMW E46 M3 is not that new! Almost all conversions usually rely on this S65 V8 high-rev engine from the successor (E92) and less to third-party brands. But this copy, called the "Phoenix M3", is an exception. Because under the jagged bonnet of this E46 M3 is an LS3 V8 engine from the Chevrolet Corvette. The vehicle belongs Ash Burrows the Saj Selva from Speedhunters magazine recently visited. The M3 shines in chic Imola red and, as already mentioned, has received a V8 as an absolute highlight. A 6,2 liter Chevrolet LS3 Crate engine which was still being tuned. In addition to other changes, it has received, for example, Texas Speed Stage 4 camshafts, titanium springs from Comp Cams, Comp Cam tappets, new exhaust manifolds, an Emerald control unit, a Setrab oil cooler, a Mishimoto cooler and Vibra-Technics engine bearings .

The V8 was coupled to a manual Tremec 6060 manual transmission with six gears that in one CAE short shifter flows out and transfers the power to the rear wheels via an LS7 clutch. And these rear wheels are also the perfect allusion to the new wheelset. The M3 stands on ultra-light Enkei NT03 + M rims in the format 18 x 10 inches, which are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires in the dimensions 265 / 35R18. So that the new wheelset sits in the wheel arch with millimeter precision, there was a lowering using KW V3 dampers in combination with Tom Schirmer springs, there were adjustable Driftworks wishbones, Powerflex PU bushings and of course the braking system is also far from the series. Ash relies on an AP Racing Pro 5000R system with BTCC brake calipers and large AP 368mm J-Hook brake discs in combination with Raybestos ST45 brake pads and Braided steel brake hoses. The result is the perfect set-up for various Drift racing the Ash completed regularly. But the M3 should also look good.

even a carbon roof was retrofitted

Therefore, there were extensive changes to the body. Worth mentioning here is the lavishly built carbon roof, the FRP front bumper in the CSL look, the new CSL-style tailgate and the aforementioned new bonnet. There was also a BritCar carbon splitter, Depo headlight covers and a lot of changes in the cabin are included. The main features here are ultra-light Sparco Evo seats, there was a Momo 07 sports steering wheel, Rico 6-point FIA belts, an FIA / MSA cage, a striped dashboard, EngineeredByDan LED lights, a Carbontec floor plate, specially made door cards and countless other individual adjustments. The result is a light one-off piece that is miles ahead of the factory E46 M3 with unimagined performance and nimbleness. If we get more information about the changes to the M3 from Ash Burrows, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply do ours Feed subscribe to.
