BMW Italy & Alcantara: BMW M4 Competition one-off!

For the 50th anniversary of the M brand, BMW Italy and Alcantara have teamed up to create a one-of-a-kind BMW M4 Competition* with a unique Alcantara® interior that is the result of the joint work of the two brands. The vehicle was unveiled at the House of BMW on Via Verri in Milan. The one-off production is based on the current generation of the most successful model series in the history of BMW M GmbH. The BMW M3 and BMW M4 models are synonymous worldwide with maximum performance in the medium premium segment. The edition models are powered by a six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology and high-revving equipment that delivers up to 375 kW/510 hp. In the interior, Alcantara covers the seats, headliner, support pillars and door panels in black with contrasting stitching, with the colors black and yellow alternating.

The interior has been specifically designed to celebrate the historic partnership, to showcase Alcantara's extreme adaptability. The M logo, created to celebrate the M division's 50th anniversary, and the BMW 50th anniversary logo are embroidered on the headrests to underscore the excellence of Italian craftsmanship. Like a common thread connecting past and future, some details of the model are inspired by the historic BMW 3.0 CSL from 1972, such as: B. the center seat with caned effect and the braiding of the door panels. One of the many individual features of this one-off is a lasered reproduction of the Milan skyline on the side door panels. Milan was chosen as the city of lifestyle and fashion, where both brands are based and which is also the cradle of the project.

a special year for the M division

"2022 is a special year for BMW's M Division as we celebrate 50 years of the brand, which has always had the highest performing sports cars in our portfolio. This is an extraordinary story of a legendary car and its Italian DNA. The BMW M1 was designed by Giugiaro. It was therefore only natural to enthusiastically accept Alcantara's proposal to build a unique BMW M4 Competition. This was the perfect way to celebrate BMW M's 50th anniversary with outstanding Italian design and state-of-the-art sustainable materialssaid Massimiliano Di Silvestre, President and CEO of BMW Italy.
