The BMW Group presents the third, even more powerful model variant of its new technology flagship: the BMW iX M60. The debut of the BMW iX M60 marks a milestone in the history of BMW M GmbH that began 50 years ago. The BMW iX M60 is produced together with the other model variants of the all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) at the BMW Group plant in Dingolfing. This creates a premium mobility experience that is unique in the competitive environment. The completely redeveloped architecture in the interior also contributes to this, creating an exceptionally generous feeling of space.

Like the other model variants, the BMW iX M60 has the most extensive standard equipment ever used by BMW in the area of ​​driver assistance systems and numerous innovations. A new generation of sensors, a new software stack and a high-performance computing platform also offer considerable potential for the consistent further development of automated driving and parking functions - in the medium term with level 3 functionality.

The latest generation of the display and operating system iDrive extends the interaction between driver and vehicle to a natural dialogue. It is based on the new BMW Operating System 8 and was designed with a clear focus on the touch function of the new BMW Curved Display and communication via voice with the extensively enhanced BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. The remote software upgrades offer the possibility of subsequently installing new and improved vehicle functions over-the-air. Navigation with the cloud-based BMW Maps system and augmented reality video on the control display ensure fast and precise route planning and perfect orientation in the traffic situation. The BMW iX is also a pioneer in data transmission with the 5G cellular standard and in integrating personal cellular accounts into the vehicle using the Personal eSIM.

The powerful proportions of a modern SAV, a reduced surface design and precisely designed details characterize the clear exterior design, which gives the BMW iX M60 its distinctive presence. The responsible use of resources in the entire value chain and a maximum reduction in CO₂-Footprints over the entire product life cycle shape the future-oriented understanding of premium mobility, which is defined by BMW i. This holistic approach is consistently implemented in the development, along the entire supply chain and in the production of the BMW iX M60. The BMW i brand stands for both ecological and social sustainability.

The amount of cobalt and lithium required for the high-voltage batteries is procured by the BMW Group from controlled sources in Australia and Morocco and delivered to the manufacturers of the battery cells. The construction principle of the electric motors makes it possible to dispense with the use of rare earth metals in the rotors of the drives. The company also purchases aluminum, which is produced using electricity from solar energy systems.

100 percent green electricity is used for vehicle production as well as for the manufacture of battery cells. A high proportion of secondary aluminum and recycled plastic also contribute to the resource-saving production of the BMW iX M60. FSC-certified wood, leather tanned with olive tree leaf extract and other natural materials are used in the interior. Recycled fishing nets, among other things, serve as the raw material for floor coverings and floor mats.
