425PS & 610NM in the BMW F23 Convertible - Dähler makes it possible

In the middle of the worst winter time, BMW presents the new M2 convertible? Not quite… The following vehicle is on the one hand not an M2 and on the other hand, in this configuration, not from a BMW plant! It is a project vehicle from the Swiss tuner "Dähler Design & Technik GmbH". The basis is a BMW F23 235i with standard N55B30 six-cylinder and original 326PS & 450NM torque. However, Dähler was of the opinion that a turbocharger was not enough and installed the N55B30 with "TwinPower" turbo technology as used in the M2 F87 Coupé. But Dähler wouldn't be Dähler if you had just left it with the 370PS. Using a two-stage increase in performance, the tuner pushes the M235i to 408PS & 580 Newton meters or even 425PS & 610NM torque. Enough power to accelerate to 4 km / h in just 100 seconds with the open version and a "hair-raising“Reaching a top speed of 300 km / h.

Of course, Dähler wanted to show the significantly increased M2 power to the outside world and adapted the elegant convertible to the F87 as far as possible. Although the open version did not have the much wider M2 fenders, the M2 bumpers make the convertible look almost identical to its big brother, at least from the front and rear. The front bumper was also equipped with side flaps and a discreet spoiler lip from the BMW M Performance shelf was installed at the rear. You also have to look twice to the side to be able to determine a difference to the M2, because Dähler installed a set of fenders that, like those of the M2, are provided with side gills. The set of side skirts, which can also be seen, also comes from the M Performance shelf. The significant increase in performance naturally also requires a revised suspension set-up and so a DÄHLer performance coilover kit was installed that can be adjusted in 16 stages in tension and compression and, of course, allows an individually adjustable lowering. 20-inch DÄHLer CDC1 rims, which are also optionally available in 21-inch, rotate in the wheel arches.

Since BMW is apparently working on a lightweight version of the M2, the open version from Dähler could be an alternative for all those who want the M2 as a convertible. And if you ask very nicely, it may even be possible to get the open version with the S55 engine from the M4 and a whopping 540PS. How do we get that? In June, the tuner set up a modified M2 that had built exactly this combination - we reported. So why shouldn't this also be possible in a convertible? If we get more information about the modifications to the M2, there is of course, as always, an update for this post.
